I think the biggest takeaway with all the sub-tick fuss is how the game was fine without it. And third party 128-tick was peak. A working formula. No one asked for innovation, and you definitely have the right to complain if "the upgrade" feels worse than what you're used to.

This issue is suddenly back. Periodic stutters that are hard to notice in a video but you feel them and they make the game unplayable. Happens when PC is on for a while, not the game itself. Only reliable fix is to restart PC. To clarify, this wasn't issue in the past

After releasing two videos on sub-tick my overall conclusion is that I believe CS2's servers are currently updating 128 times a second, but only because of packet sizes being very large so it splits them into two. 1/4.

Can someone else confirm that these values have changed to this now? . I don't recall changing their default values in CS2 which was cl_interp 0.1 and cl_interp_ratio 2. If confirmed, then it means Valve actually acknowledges that these new values likely improve the experience.

There are so many good community servers that simply don't thrive anymore like bhop/surf/kz/hns/zombie/deathrun/minigames. A cherished pastime for so many has been taken away which most of us never wanted gone in the first place. Not supporting custom maps in CS2 SUCKS.

Tip: If you're playing CS:GO on low res but your PC has decent hardware, increasing the MSAA from None to 4X should affect your performance by almost nothing and your game will look so much nicer "for free". I tested on 1920x1080 from "None" to 8X, got the results below. Try it!

Look, replacing CS:GO was probably for the best and I don't mind things taking time to get a better game, but its wild to see how players, community servers and mappers are essentially in the dark and have no idea if certain issues or concerns are ever going to get addressed.

Was running an i9-9900k machine hosting 10 CS:GO servers, and the VAR bounced between 0.05 - 0.1, and sometimes spiked up to 1-2. Changed machine to a Ryzen 3700x, hosting the same 10 servers and the VAR is almost always at 0.005 VAR. Ryzen seems to be great for CS:GO hosting.

Limiting fps to 32 seems to make bhops more effective and it works for both CS:GO & CS2. Notes:.- CS:GOs limiter won't go lower than ~48.- CS2s limiter allows you to reach 32, but apparently only 64 with AMD GPUs.- You can bypass the threshold using an external limiter.

I tried it! . Used CapFrameX, CS2 Benchmark Map by FPSHeaven, 90 second sample size, restarted PC for each run. Little to no performance difference on my PC when compared to Nvidia Shadowplay. Keep reading if you want more info

This is one of the best performance tweaks you can make in my opinion. If you cap your FPS to a value your PC can easily reach as a minimum, use Rivatuner to cap your FPS for the absolute fastest and most stable frametimes possible. Your game will feel "buttery" smooth.
@CounterStrike @FPSHEAVEN_ fps_max 480 vs riva's 480 cap. Almost an 100FPS increase in lows by locking the frames with riva. 60 second run.

People that complain about HE countering smokes are the same people that complain about no skybox, which ironically is why HE can now counter a smoke thrown from other side of map.

I feel like with CS2 we're going full circle again with all the different placebo commands and tweaking settings that just don't make sense or can even make things worse performance wise. I'm not complaining, you're welcome to experiment, I just think history repeats itself.

At the start, shooting felt off, because shooting and firing (visuals) were not synced. Valve fixed that. But it still felt a bit off, mostly because the results of your shots had additional delay at certain times. Valve fixed that as well just now. Shooting feels better now.
