@Pieters_Tweet @MatteoCarandini In addition to more precise feedback, if cells in higher visual areas sample from uniformly sized regions of V1 then they should inherit smaller cellular RFs in the foceal zone, leading to higher resolution vision. Something we're currently investigating.
