@balajis While some of the hate might be what you are reffering to. Most of it, specially in America, is beacuse of the flooding and tight hold of Indians in IT sector that is keeping some of the locals out. As long as you dont mention that, you analysis might be a little out of touch.

@RealWaKhan The number of international students the US admits needs to be watched closely. That is the biggest source of potential H1Bs and also. This is not good for the students who take huge loans and also the job market when they graduate. Wonder who is benefiting from this

@ShadesOfBlueAn1 @JDVance @VivekGRamaswamy I think its perfectly fine to express disappointment but being headstrong could hurt more than help specially in this crazy environment. Not sure if Indians have a lot of leverage at this point. Losing allies is not really what we want.

It is worth mentioning that many people were discussing the DOGE matter behind the scenes, including many Indians who had the magnanimity to hear Marko out and helped facilitate his rehiring. I won’t name names but these individuals deserve a lot of credit. Lots of positive developments came of this episode and it is a very good sign that what could’ve ended in acrimony and a scalp for the left, instead ended with the MAGA coalition finding more common ground to grow even stronger.

@AnnaGorisch It will only normalize Indian hate if it is blow out of proportion and everyone now has a say about it. Hopefully @elonmusk can say a word or 2 and get it over with. Make a guy forcefully apologize and then what ?

That's one way to look at it but Vivek was way more popular and a peer to Elon. Elez, who nobody knows, just works there ?
Vivek gets fired from DOGE for being honest and constructive about cultural differences and future potential. Elez makes a bloody racist comment and calls for “everyone should hate Indians” - he gets rehired? Make it make sense.
