Biggest problem in owning your own darts brand is finding your own match darts. Infinite possibilities.
After about a dozen different samples trying to find the perfect dart I accidentally found that these 24g bad boys are perfect for me!

- I am not looking to "replace" any of the players who have left. Loxley has a great roster of players still and now there is room for each of them to receive even more attention and help them reach the pinnacle of their potential

What inspired: The Robin darts
I was playing around with the idea of a long smooth dart with a thin tapered front. Zac

What inspired: The Katana darts
My brother-in-law said the grip on a samurai sword was unique and wondered if I could do anything with it on darts. A year later I finally got inspired and the Katana was born!

What inspired: The Acorn darts
Every dart design has to function as a dart first and foremost. We have all thrown small pebbles into water and the Acorn was designed to mimic the natural squeeze with which a carefully aimed pebble is tossed.
Even used these in a league match!!

Coming in September...
I keep getting asked when the Gen 2 Ryan Searles will be coming out. They are currently in production and I expect them to be in the shops late September.
The attached 2 samples are winging their way over to Ryan as I type this.

Entries are now open for the 2024 PDC Qualifying Schools, which will be held from January 8-14 in Milton Keynes and Kalkar.

What inspired: The Tuck darts
First dart I designed. I love the bronze coating and it fit perfectly with Friar Tuck. The dart shape had to be wider in the middle but I didn't want to make a classic bomb shape barrel. Grip and smooth sections to suit certain grip preferences.

What inspired: The Boulder darts
I am an avid boulderer and the feel of a boulder grip got me thinking of a smooth barrelled dart with a more grainy texture than the usual sandblasting. The shape allows for many types of grip placements.

All 3 left with my blessing. Loxley can't afford big money contracts at the moment as it's built solely from my life savings and no outside investment.
If Loxley is seen as a "feeder club" helping relative unknowns develop and go on to get big contracts elsewhere then job done!

Plenty of developments at Loxley Darts, exclusives, concepts, backroom changes and yesterday I informed Darts Corner that Loxley will no longer be supplying them.
I am busy designing some new packaging types and some quirky darts to get prototyped as well. All systems go.

For the future perhaps Loxley will take on small investments but that would be from real darts fans to carry on the community feel of Loxley rather than faceless Venture Capital who give zero f***s about darts.
Even then the focus would still be on helping up and coming players.

The Black/Gold/Blasted monstrosity eventually came out as a limited run "Moloko Plus"
The grippy Robin sample was used by Gary Blades when he twice lost to and then beat MVG in the space of 3 days on the Pro Tour.

That was one of the ideas behind them, Ryan struggled with the softer boards, with the darts going in too deep and not leaving much room. Having them stand up a little more has seen his 180 scoring prowess return with a vengeance.

As a side note the big brands will be doing 300 to 500 per weight with some pro players darts being far far more than that.
Target will be draining the entire Earths core of raw tungsten deposits to make Luke Littler darts. I wouldn't even want to guess at how many thousands.

It depends what you want to achieve, having stage 1 and stage 2 makes it interesting for me. 3 chances of drawing somebody around my level in the first round and the tiny unrealistic hopes I could have a run and qualify for the main event.

Loxley is still just about a start-up company. Certainly chose the wrong decade to start a business, the 2020s are a nightmare.
So yes I do do most things myself with a little help here and there as I build towards 2024. From the 1400, at least half.

This dart is a hybrid between the Tuck which Ryan loves and a 40g block of tungsten with a heavy knurl that Loxley had delivered just as examples of knurling types. Before we worked on Ryans new 34g match dart we had him destroying the practice board with them.

Mostly it's on recommendation, trusted sources recommend player X and I then investigate.
For example Owen Bates was introduced by Ryan Searle. Scott Baker was recommended by Edgar and Ryan O'Connor.

I call in a "barbed wire" grip for the looks. However it is actually quite a mild grip.
I had noticed some of Ryans darts spiralling into T1 or T5 so this grip is also designed to address that as well as reducing wild deflections.

It was due to lockdown. Edgar and Searle needed darts and the world was closed. I had already been working on darts ideas just for fun (like a lot of darts fans on here) and it just kind of snowballed from there.

There's zero chance of me getting a tour card but I'd like to give it a go so I can understand these events from a players perspective, hopefully find some things that will help me support my players better.

They initially came out as a concept but the first 100 sets sold out in no time, made a second batch and have now given them their own packaging. More weights are definitely on my mind.
