One day I will tell my story in full. But for now: Trust your instincts. Know your worth. Be brave enough to forge your own lane if it does not exist. Choose your mentors wisely. And above all, do not be afraid to step into your purpose, because it’s absolutely beautiful here

Thank you to the scientists in South Africa that were transparent and vigilant in bringing this new variant of concern, omicron, to light. Stigmatizing a country that has been exemplary in implementing mitigation strategies is wrong. Global vaccine equity is the only answer

The majority of #Africa ’s health workers are still missing out on vaccines and remain dangerously exposed to severe #COVID19 infection. Unless our doctors, nurses and other frontline workers get full protection we risk a blowback in the efforts to curb this disease.

Proud to be selected as a US representative for @CDCgov ’s Advancing Health Equity: A US-UK roundtable on race and health inequalities today. Our goal is to develop a bilateral action plan to strengthen public health infrastructure and address racial and ethnic health inequities.

1/2) Today @CityofSTLDOH hosted @CDCDirector Dr. Rochelle Walensky. We showcased the work of our health department and discussed the current and future challenges for public health. These conversations are tough. I want to thank her for listening and being solution-oriented.

2/2) due largely to the devastating impact of colonialism. These countries have already lost millions as a result. The willful continuance of these travel bans is discriminatory. And the trust that has been eroded will need to be built back. Stop the travel ban @potus @WhiteHouse

That this resonates with so many gives me hope amidst the devastation. Thank you all. Let this collective support translate into votes, into policy, into convictions, into peace, into LIFE. I vow to keep using my voice to teach and my passion to bring healing #alutacontinua

Reasonable time? There is enough data supporting ending this now. Either ban everyone with #Omicron or end the ban and focus on travel mitigation strategies. To just target 8 African countries is discriminatory and is damaging their economies. They’re an easy target though…

This is 40! Jesse pulled off the biggest surprise - friends flew in from all over spanning 2 decades of friendship. Thankful for the weekend of pampering before today’s birthday. Proud to embrace the woman I am: the goals reached so far, flaws, family and everything in between

2/2) He stepped up when I was pregnant and there was no policy for pregnant women at the beginning of the pandemic. He encouraged me and was honest with me when I wanted to do something he’d never seen and thought was crazy for a while. He’s an amazing man and ally. Thank you Jay

2/2) Rushed travel bans that only target African countries perpetuate stigma and xenophobia. We know this variant has now been isolated in more countries outside of Africa, where are their travel bans? Focus on vaccine equity and implementing tried and true mitigation strategies

I joined @CNN today to talk about monkeypox and the need to combat stigma against the LGBTQIA+ community as a matter of priority. I proudly introduced @CityofSTLDOH ’s anti-stigma campaign. And then we discussed #COVID19 , the current surge and how to keep the public engaged

Please stop lecturing people about their lack of interest in the coronation. For those of us born in countries that were colonized and continued to see the impact of the violence against our people and attempt to erase our culture, just stop. Enjoy the show and leave us out of it
