Today was my last day at @PdxInteractive. Over almost 7 years I'm proud to have my name on the credit of every GSG we had live since 2018. And also some stuff that I can't talk about but I hope sees the light of day at some point.

For the first time I'll be travelling from Paris to Bristol for @ACCUConf by train and not by plane. And as you can tell, I'm not doing it because I love the user experience, but mostly because EasyJet was asking for 65 EUR extra to allow me to bring luggage.

LLMs can't code, they make stuff based on what they're trained on. At best they might be able to combine some obscure code in their dataset that happen to work and haven't been tried before by sheer luck, but we're approaching Infinite Monkey space.
@andrewchen Pretty soon, the LLMs will write better optimized assembly than traditional compilers (a la FFMPEG). You’ll ask them to re-write SQLite from scratch, but better, and they’ll just do it. Ans that’s if they only progress at the pace that we’ve seen so far.
