Before and After... all cleaned up in readiness for the main Friday prayers.
Our Mosque is open for all and do not harbour any evil for those who wish otherwise.
May Allah.swt guide us all.
A young lad accepted Islam today & was given one of our new-Muslim project’s ‘Starter Care Packages’.
May Allāh ease his journey ahead.
Also, what an inspiration his young Muslim friend is who introduced Islam & is actively supporting him. Post-conversion aftercare is vital.
Our imam attended
@StCatherinesPre
hospice’s serene grounds, discussing future collaborative initiatives to engage with the Preston Muslim community.
Thank you to the three directors (pictured below) who facilitated a tour & constructive dialogue.
Our 2023 Winter youth challenge kicked off today with a staggering 50 children in attendance!
Activities included reciting Yāsīn, memorising the 99 name of Allah and team-building games, topped with a scrumptious breakfast.
Post-Maghrib Reflections
• Throughout last week, our theme focussed on appreciating the many selfless individuals/teams serving our mosque
• Each group was compared with a vital organ/body part
A heartfelt thank you to St Clare’s Primary for visiting and for their thoughtful letter. It means a lot to us.
Opening up our sacred space for curious minds is a prophetic practice that promotes a better understanding of Islam.
Fajr Club - Week 2
Our largest attendance figures yet: a staggering 45 boys who turned up for Fajr, Yāsīn recitation & ‘memory games’… all on a lazy Saturday morning.
It warms our hearts with optimism for the future to see an entire row of devoted & excited little Muslims.
Just hosted the ‘Lifesavers’ training programme’ by
@BritishIMA
for men & women.
A lucid delivery from the speaker, lively engagement from the attendees & excellent presentation literacy from the volunteers!
A must-have workshop for mosques & vital skills for all Muslims.
Winter Challenge - Day Fourteen - The Finale
Our Fajr Knights campaign came to a closure today with an encouraging debrief my Ml Amjad and the final ‘Shape-up’ activity: the boys spelt the word ‘Fajr’ in Arabic.
May Allah bless the volunteers, the parents and the boys.
Y5 & Y6 pupils from Longridge enjoyed a morning of multi-sensory activities at our mosque.
They were treated to fruit/veg from the ‘Prophetic Palate’ station, left spellbound by the call to prayer & were each given parting gifts: Masjid Salaam personalised chocolates.

Places of worship are a sanctuary for love and peace.
ILWR, very sad day, may Allah(swt) guide us all.
Today, our imam was graciously invited to ‘St Cecilia's RC High School’ to deliver a workshop on ‘A Day in The Life of an Imam’.
The staff and students appreciated the dynamism of 21st century mosques and imams.
Last week, we hosted representatives from
@RosemereCF
to showcase the facilities at our mosque and to provide a glimpse into the services we provide to the community. Many thanks to Cat for sharing some brilliant photos.
A grand turnout for our monthly converts’ meet-up: 30 brothers & sisters.
A heartfelt thank you to the catering crew for an appetising breakfast & Shaykh Umar for sharing his intimate journey to Islam.
We also outlined our 2024 roadmap & charted our project’s long-term goals.
Winter Challenge - Day Six
Today we treated the dedicated fathers of our young Fajr knights to a ‘dads & lads’ breakfast: full English and tea!
We all play active roles in shaping Muslim identities & introducing children to the mosque’s warmth.
Our well-attended open day: an explorational afternoon for our 50-60 guests, showcasing the services of the mosque & exhibiting the raw beauty of Islam and Muslims.
May Allah handsomely reward our volunteers team.
Fajr Club - Week Four
Despite the early Fajr time, the parents & children of Fulwood turned up in full force with a record attendance of 50!
Activity: game of ‘hula hoop pass’ to hone in on their coordination and communication skills.
Be sure to bring your son next Saturday!
As we bid farewell to the month of Ramadhan and welcome the day of Eid, the maghrib athaan today Wednesday 12th May at 9.06pm will take place outdoors on loudspeakers.
Fajr Club - Week Three
The boys were split into different groups to have a crack at an Islamic trivia game: the ultimate test of their knowledge, with some interesting twists…
Parents and children defied the earlier Fajr timings with a strong turnout of 45 children!
Winter Challenge - Day Seven
Today’s game of ‘Silent Shape-up’ saw the boys arranged into groups with a leader.
Leaders had to mutely organise their teams into an Arabic letter for them to guess.
Team members must place their trust in their leader’s coordination skills.
Fajr Club - Week 5
Congregation at 6:15am… no problem at all for 40 children & their heroic parents!
Energetic games of ‘Sharky, Sharky’ & ‘Circle Tag’ to get iron & blood pumping.
Fun aside, the activities taught a practical lesson in processing & following instructions.
Winter Challenge - Day Eight
• Exhilarating, high-octane games of dodgeball saw the boys go head-to-head. Even the adults got involved!
• Our volunteer catering-crew deserve three Michelin stars for their consistent culinary magic every morning!
May Allah bless them!
With the Re-Opening of the Masjid tomorrow.
Due to restrictions for the number of Musallees - the Ladies Prayer Room and Facilities will be closed for the foreseeable future until total restrictions for Covid-19 and Social Distancing have been removed by the Government.
🕌 Inspiring the next generation to find solace and strength in Salah at the mosque! Let's cultivate a sense of belonging and spirituality from an early age, through incentives and positive experiences, empowering our kids to embrace this beautiful tradition with open hearts.
Children from Cottam Primary enjoyed a riveting, activity-filled morning at our mosque.
Plenty of workstations to keep them engaged, not to mention personalised calligraphy for each child, courtesy of Mawlānā Amjad.
Winter Challenge - Day Two
Yasīn recitation was followed by five groups presenting the first 10 names of Allāh, from memory. Well done!
1/10th of the way there.
Refreshingly impressive to have a teenager send over his personal notes from today’s expertly delivered lecture!
A burning zeal to grow coupled with a serious learning attitude makes for a formidable young mind.
Let’s all take a leaf from his book…
Winter Challenge - Day Four
• Milestone - First boy reached 30 names of Allāh today!
• A local sister lovingly made 40 blueberry pancakes as breakfast for each attendee
• The ‘Articulate’ games climaxed with a thrilling finale, proving children can have fun without a screen
Winter Challenge - Day Thirteen
Penultimate session was expertly lead by our resident, professional archer, Hafiz Muhammad, who drilled the children in duelling with foam swords.
An exercise in swordsmanship, agility & strength.
A practical showcase of prophetic-era combat.
Arif Master (son of Haji Iqbal & Hajiyani Zubaida and brother of Asif, Nasima, Sabiha, Habiba and Nafisa) has sadly passed away. May Allah bless him with Jannatul firdous and grant sabr Jameel to family & friends. Ameen
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Today marks the beginning of the ‘Bosnian Remembrance Week’. On the 11th of July 1995, thousands of Bosniaks, simply on the pretext of their Muslim identity, were mercilessly subjected to a gruesome massacre by Christian-Serbs.
Winter Challenge - Day Nine
Nothing like some early morning stretches to get your blood pumping before a test of physical resistance and endurance with ‘prophetic grappling’!
The aim is to floor the opponent, not K.O them.
Ottoman Archery Course:
Our fledgling archers were surprised, in last Sunday’s session, with the unannounced arrival of a guest: world champion, Turkish horseback archer ‘Alperen Alkan’.
He personally delivered the training session and taught some secret moves.
What a treat!
Fajr Club - Week 1
Our new project was kicked off with an impressive tally of approx. 40 boys attending the Fajr congregation, followed by sūrah Yasīn recitation and some bizarre activities: games of ‘silent line-up’ and ‘human knot’!
We pray for consistency and sincerity 🤲
Our ‘spiritual sleepover’, which attracted almost 50 young lads from the area, blended physical, intellectual, and spiritual elements, contributing to the participants' personal growth and well-rounded development.
Winter Challenge - Day Twelve
A game of ‘Catch, Don’t Catch’ tested the boys’ reaction times as one camper stands in the middle of a circle of participants, throwing a ball to the others saying either ‘catch’ or ‘don’t catch’. The others must do the opposite or be eliminated!
The key takeaway for the boys: the mosque competition may have ended, but Allah’s lifelong tournament, incentivised with Paradise at the finishing line, runs 24/7.

Lots of heartfelt and inspirational conversations at our frequent ‘New-Muslim’ social event yesterday.
‘Transitional dilemmas and solutions’ for converts took centre stage as our agenda item.
Many thanks to the volunteers for the scrumptious snacks!
Winter Challenge - Day Three
• Our oldest lad, Armaan, responsibly lead a sūrah Yāsīn study circle for our young six year olds.
• The boys went head-to-head in a competitive game of ‘Kid’s Articulate’. With the teams level pegging, the games are to be continued tomorrow…
Winter Challenge - Day Five
Our most testing activity yet: origami boats, birds & shurikens (ninja stars).
It’s safe to say that the boys were given a run for their money today!
A humbling lesson in dexterity, working with written instructions and hand-eye coordination.
We are indebted to a generous local sister who made a Prophetic food tray for the guests to enjoy and to Hafiz Muhammad for delivering a wonderfully melodious demonstration of the call to prayer (adhān).

Boys Fajr Club
- After much demand following the success of our Winter Fajr scheme, we have decided to host Fajr clubs every Saturday morning

Our heartfelt thanks to the brothers & our charismatic instructor, Hafiz Muhammad, for inviting out new-Muslim comrades to revive a lost prophetic practice: archery.
A local sister kindly baked a sumptuous cake and sent flasks of tea for us to enjoy. What a gracious gesture!
Over 70 boys participated in our Winter Fajr Challenge, with 35 marching straight to the finish line.
As a collective prize, the winners will be treated to a day of food & fun.
