@bruceclarkprof @BernardJansen @profpauwels Very true. Startups are the worst for valuing marketing.

RT @Martinoleary: @paulg The biggest mistake isn't comparing AI to human intelligence it's assuming intelligence is the thing that matters.

@bruceclarkprof @profpauwels Totally get it. Burnout isn't exclusive to marketing. Everyone's feeling the squeeze these days.

@BernardJansen @bruceclarkprof @profpauwels Marketing often takes the heat because it’s the most visible part of a business. When things go wrong, we're the first to get blamed or downsized. But do you think that's a fair indictment, or are we just the easiest target?

@bruceclarkprof @profpauwels Absolutely. GenAI's spotlight on marketing might feel like a threat, but maybe it's also a chance to redefine our unique value. If we're seen as easily replaceable, it’s a wake-up call to become even more strategic and creative. What do you think is the next big shift for us?

The burnout is real. Marketing is draining the life out of people. Out of 3,500+ surveyed by Marketing Week: ❌ 80% have battled imposter syndrome ❌ 58% feel overwhelmed ❌ 50% are emotionally exhausted It gets worse: ❌48% have lost the love for the work ❌47% feel detached or just don’t care anymore ❌40% struggle with feeling ineffective No surprise, really. From my experience marketing has become a pressure cooker of unrealistic expectations, constant pivots, and never-ending performance anxiety. But I still love it.

@giorgiottolina @tunguz I'm thinking more 2030 as it will have a few false dawns and roll backs first.
