Goodbye, Shirley Conran. 'Lace' was one of the first books I read as a tween, and I am still slightly haunted by that goldfish but was thankful for the read and for the centering of female sexuality in a work of commercial fiction nevertheless.

Well, if it's any consolation, I think it's a good idea. My kids both did NCS (they loved it). This isn't that different. It's only 1 weekend a month, FFS! Military training isn't mandatory, & young adults need to learn that what you get back is a measure of what you put in.
