Check out the new promo video from @Awana. It's all about Child Discipleship...forming kids to become like Jesus. To me, this is the most important work on the planet.

@Boethius1100 @Awana George, I'd like to encourage you to please show me one child lesson, or one training manual, or one training video, or one handbook page...that is any sort of evidence of your claim of wokeness. If you find it, I'd like to see it for myself. Please share.

@Boethius1100 @Awana George, you may remember during Covid, the federal govt deployed special funding known as the PPP loan and/or the ERC credit. We received those. Both were forgiven. Beyond that, which was a once in a lifetime crisis occurrence, we do not receive federal funding.

Me looking at the names of people trending on X the week after the super bowl and not having a clue who they are because they are NBA players. Magic. Larry. Jordan. That's about the extend of my NBA jam.

@MrsCMFrancis I think the most we ever paid (my sons are 20 and 22) was like $400? This seems over the top to me. Certainly out of reach for a high percentage of families.

What cultural issues are most concerning to today's parents and church leaders? I'm curious, what would you say if you were taking the survey? Check out the results in the State of Child Discipleship study by @Awana:

Loneliness continues to be an issue for Parents. And top concerns for their own children are the possibility that their kids may struggle w anxiety / depression. Your congregation is a community refuge. May the Gospel flourish & heal the hurting. @Awana

Today I am grateful for the ESV. Our 12 year old daughter with autism is significantly behind in her reading abilities. Family worship has been a challenge for many years because she cannot read the Bible with us. Sometimes she will read a sentence or two, and struggles with much of it, but typically doesn’t make it much further. My wife purchased the ESV’s Dyslexia Version since there can be overlap with Dyslexia and Autism learning disabilities. Tonight for family worship we sat down and our daughter read 9 verses out loud. This is the most by far she has ever attempted. Not only did she read out loud, she was able to recite many of the words that normally would be a struggle for her. It was incredible to hear my child who for several years has struggled to read a Bible with us be able to sit down as a family and watch her joyfully attempt to read far more than she ever has. I am tremendously grateful to @crossway for producing this Bible and pray that many more people will be able to make use of the Dyslexia Bible.

@CatherineMcNiel @Awana The "tyipcal" U.S. church is obsessed w/ the church growth model (numerical growth). This model dominates "staff members time" with admin tasks & there is little time for relational discipleship of parents who say, "I don't disciple my kids cuz no one has ever shown me how." Sad

@CatherineMcNiel @Awana Well, you are a bit of a rock star (so to speak). In our research we've discovered 4 groups of "church parents" and you are in the "highly engaged" group. With...or without the help from the church...you are gonna love, mentor, disciple your kids. May your tribe increase.

@caefurd @Awana Good insight Caleb. Why should we expect parents to "step up" because we hand them a "take home paper" at church? They need to be RELATIONALLY discipled and trained. This. Takes. Time.
