@NILvsNLI They may have if the NCAA stayed amateur. But instead the courts said that college sports couldn't be for amateurs and had to allow professionalism. Why do the hard work to create a professional minor league when you can just force an amateur league to become professional?

@HighlightHump You don't see the big money guys paying NIL deals to get guys to go to low budget schools. It's always their school. How many OSU donors are paying for Cleveland State NIL? Throwing money at top-5 recruits doesn't improve the sport.

@HighlightHump They don't have to. NIL is going away with the revenue sharing. There will be less of an incentive to put commercial effort in. If the school is giving you six figures, why would you waste time putting out t-shirts that may make you a few thousand dollars after expenses?

@HighlightHump Wrestlers don't have mainstream appeal. The nearest thing was Jordan Burroughs in Olympic years. And even that was minor and a part of a Olympic athlete bundle.

@NILvsNLI Non-athletes working jobs to pay for college pay taxes on their income. Athletes aren't taxed on their scholarships covering food, housing, stipends (used to buy computers, TVs, vacations). And non-athletes pay Athletic Fees to fund the athletes. Who is the victim?

It's been in the works for years. It's actually going to happen.

@Don_K_Williams @SRUSA_Official A lot of kids say: "I could make the roster, I am as good as some of the kids they brought in." But those kids sit the bench, transfer out, and have no impact. That's not what the coach is after. They took a few who had great grades out of the 100s like them wanting in.

@MatScouts1 @VakAttack So they got a benefit out them that wasn't even their primary focus? Big Brain hasn't been exposed to sports without salary caps. You pay big for a slight boost when you're at the very top.

@westernaddress @NILvsNLI The affluent don't want to leave. They want to be able to continue to play those without and dominate them. They want to have their cake and eat it too.

@NILvsNLI No, there isn't. The conference is drastically underfunded and does not get the best leadership. There are a lot of people who go there to coach and want to use it to get a major job. They have minimal oversight and quickly learn they don't need to follow the rules.

@JoeKania3 When you're associated with a dynasty your ego gets inflated. You stand on the shoulders of giants and think you are yourself a giant.

@RickyBoy_4 @MatScouts1 No they don't. Some of the individual matchups do. But the duals don't. Duals are nothing but ten individual matches. Open your eyes.

@MattBrownEP AAU Schools near the bottom are going to be the biggest hit. Interestingly, Nebraska, Iowa State, and Syracuse being booted for a lack of research may help them not face the same pressures.

The whole point of the program is to provide professional training to people who want to make a career out of it. It's not about the broadcast. And they don't care about RTC guys who aren't putting in the time in the studio in all sports. @Malikthemessiah
@MrPatMineo @JustinJBasch It’s very hard to be a good wrestling broadcaster unless you’ve been around it or wrestled. I think that’s the programs biggest miss, again there are a lot of wrestlers on the team or the RTC that could do a great job paired with someone learning
