This. This. This. 1 million times this. Over 75% of tornadoes are rated as EF2 and lower. Proper building codes can save homes from being leveled and protect the families inside if a tornado strikes. Florida’s wind code should be copied by every SCS-prone state.
A lesson I’m learning from the photos out of these intense tornadoes across Florida today is that, to nobodies surprise, houses built to a robust wind code *survive*, even in the face of 120-130mph winds - a lesson Dixie and Tornado Alley could learn #flwx
