@harrisonfinberg Yes, yes and yes. They were given significant tax credits, spent a lot more than their initial costs and yes the city and Septa had to make additional investments.

Check the record! I didn’t prevent, facts matter. I created tools, most folks understand that respecting neighbors is important to their projects. This developer did not and now he has carry cost that he wants to recoup making a more reasonable development almost impossible.
What a horrible thing to say about residents in Philadelphia who rent. This is a former Philadelphia City Council member who prevented 100 plus units from being built on a lot that needed a zoning variance. Unfortunately this is way too common in Philadelphia & needs to change.

@Johnbrown1860 The neighbors would say yes. The lot is better than a 100 plus unit building of renters who don’t always treat long term and older residents well.

@Johnbrown1860 @harrisonfinberg @jongeeting Too many details missing and not going to address. I authored MIN, rezoned area and did TOD. When developers don’t work with impacted residents and want to buy their way out —- hence multiple owners, they don’t build trust and lose. Developers take note.

@CMThomasPHL For the record I was the one who did the BIRT analysis 2011 to prove BIRT, NET BIRT, was a problem for small businesses. Our colleague Domb agreed and advocated. I changed, with Council support, how we viewed BIRT in this city. My legacy work.
