Orlando Mitchell found guilty of killing his child's mother, after she dropped off her kids at an Indianapolis daycare. The jurors were shown a video showing Mitchell waiting for Krystal Walton outside the west side daycare, running up to her, and shooting her. @wrtv

BREAKING: Orlando Mitchell found guilty of murdering his son’s mother outside of an Indianapolis daycare. Mitchell is also accused of brutally killing Marion County Sheriff's deputy John Durm, inside the sally port of the Criminal Justice Campus. He is still awaiting trial in that case. @wrtv

Ivy Tech Community College announces it is discontinuing its Office of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging next month. Citing changes in state and federal law, Ivy Tech says it is making the move to ensure it is not in jeopardy of losing state and federal funding. More than 350 students from Indianapolis-area schools are taking part in the 2025 Black Leadership Summit, hosted by a student group at Fishers High School and Butler University. The event aims to empower local Black students to be leaders in their schools and communities. Meantime, state lawmakers are pushing a bill to limit more programs focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

According to airport officials, the Japan Airlines plane struck the tail of the stationary Delta jet while taxiing. Delta later confirmed the incident, stating that its aircraft was unoccupied at the time. Emergency crews responded quickly and all passengers aboard the Japan Airlines flight were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported, and authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
