State Rep. Tim O'Brien was presented with a painting of the Indiana Statehouse by Central High School student Emma Ruedlinger today. She used acrylic paint for her piece, which took more than 30 hours to complete.

State Rep. Tony Cook's bill that would incorporate civics education into Hoosier students' middle school curriculum passed out of the Indiana House last week. Cook, a former government teacher, said his proposal would require students to take a civics course in grades 6, 7 or 8.
Women in the U.S. on average face a 13% chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer. State Rep. Bob Behning’s wife, Rosalie, beat the disease and has been cancer free for 6 years. As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, Hoosiers are encouraged to schedule a screening.

State Rep. Dave Wolkins of Warsaw is leaving behind a great legacy as he retires from the Indiana House of Representatives after 32 years. A strong proponent of limited government, Wolkins worked to cut burdensome red tape to help Hoosiers and businesses alike.
