Went a different route w senior “gift.” Printed off an extra line-up card before each game & saved it. Wrote each senior an individualized message about how they all impacted our program as young men and as players. Laminated them and gave them tonight at the banquet.

I remember summer going into SR yr finishing 🏈 7/7 & going to 🇺🇸 ⚾️game, changing in 🚗 on the way. Playing summer league 🏀 game & heading right to 🏈 7/7. All summer long. Why? Bc I loved to compete, play & loved being w the boys. Being tired wasn’t an option.

Well past time for adults in dugouts to be adults. Huge difference between fun/energy & spewing absolute garbage aimed at opposing players/coaches. This nonsense should not be normalized. It’s completely fake & does not exude toughness. It’s easier to allow rather than stop.

It is OK to let your teammates know when standards are not being met. You can tell your dude he needs to be better & still be boys. Don’t be afraid! Police one another. It means more coming from you than a coach!

A5: Early on I was a rule guy. Do this..run. Do this...run. Can't do this. Can't do that. Short hair, shave. Kids were so boxed in they couldn't breathe. We now have expectations/standards that the kids come up with. Has made a big difference.

Sitting around in Indy this past January w a bunch of coaches late at night, Ken Ravizza walks by & told the group he had some time, asking if he could sit. It was one of the most impactful 30 minutes as a coach I’ve experienced. Sad to hear of his passing.

We look at our offense like one of those old school roller hockey pucks...if all the wheels are not on the ground rolling together, the puck will flip on its side and not move efficiently. We want to be as well rounded an offense team as we can.
