So my brilliant friend @jasminldiab just won the Lisa Gilad prize at IASFM 2025 for this piece of work. Bursting with pride!
Paper out in @JMHSjournal today. It's been such a painful year. This study engages with Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian LGBTIQ+ IDPs from South Lebanon, where the intersection of their sexual and gender identities with displacement necessitates a precarious balance—staying invisible to most while selectively visible to a trusted few. The research challenges rigid distinctions between "refugee" and "IDP" for this group, emphasizing the need for inclusive frameworks that reflect the intersectional realities of the hyper-marginalized in displacement.
