Video of Israeli soldiers using a freaking CATAPULT to set fire to Lebanese land. Burning our lands, biodiversity, trees, and sustenance. Where is the condemnation by the respective international environmental organizations? Why are you silent? What are you waiting for?
Isra*l just struck a car in south Lebanon, on the road between Aitroun & Ainata. It reportedly had a woman driving with three kids. The car is said to be registered to journalist Samir Ayyoub.
+ something needs to be said about phosphorus’s effect on agricultural lands, which is the case in Palestine and South Lebanon. Its effects last for years and years: phosphorus severely pollutes the ground and groundwater and weakens the soil for agricultural production. 1/
White phosphorus has caused severe 4th and 5th-degree burns to Palestinian victims. While I won't display actual images, a mere description cannot fully capture the severity. Instead, I'll provide a medical illustration to depict the extent of the damage.
Heavy day for South Lebanon today. White phosphorus raining on several villages across the border. Civilian infrastructure, green land, everything. Insane aggression. Dystopic photo.
Lebanon declaring a 3-day mourning period for the queen of England is so embarrassing because not only are we mourning a colonizer we’re mourning a colonizer who didn’t even colonize us
i can’t believe this is on the internet for everyone to see: this man is literally confessing to taking part in ethnic cleansing and illegal settlement and then zionists have the audacity to say “we’re being misunderstood and oppressed by society 🥺 “
Israeli jets’ favorite party trick in Lebanon is breaching not only our airspace but also our sound barrier, essentially enacting mock raids, which citizens made to believe they’re about to get bombed. I don’t think people abroad realize how much of the torture is psychological
Israel is interfering with GPS systems and airport processes in Lebanon, putting commercial airplanes carrying civilians in danger, but that’s apparently not a big deal because who cares about Lebanese and Arab civilians at large, right?
seeing tweets like this makes a special kind of deep-seated hate come up to the surface.
there are no bounds to the evil that is zionism. truly no bounds.
the Notre Dame was international news & everyone was in tears at how a religious monument was in flames. Al-Aqsa is being purposefully vandalized by settlers, and people who are praying are being attacked INSIDE. lets just throw out international law at this point why dont we
Israel striking the town of Kfarkela with white phosphorus. Notice what they’re striking at the bottom. Open areas of agricultural land. They are purposefully debilitating Lebanon’s agri sector, its economy, its environment, and its people’s wellbeing
Israel just struck Baalbek, in the Bekaa region, for the first time since the war. This seems like a replay of 2006, where they strike all over Lebanon and claim to hit military targets, while destroying the country’s infrastructure and killing civilians along the way.
Border villages in South Lebanon are increasingly being leveled to the ground. Yet international news channels will not convey this, perhaps to avoid showing Israel’s true colors beyond the Hamas excuse: an expansionist, murderous, settler-colonial project.
2/ By virtue, as its after remnants affect water and soil, they affect farmers’ livelihoods, as well as the composition of grown produce, which means consumers’ health is on the line, years after phosphorus has been used.

“hamas stronghold”
“hezbollah stronghold”
terms used to justify the murder of civilians as collateral damage because there are other More Important Targets™️
& let the barrage of fake news begin. The first slide is claiming that the car was transporting hezb members ( notice the subjectivity of the language used.) On the right is Samer Ayyoub, covered in blood after he and his family members’ cars were targeted.

I believe that there are no words left in the English language - or any language at all - that can really describe the cruelty of Isra*l. People, praying in what they resort to as a safe haven, only to be direct targets of airstrikes. This is the utmost level of evil.
An Israeli air strike blasted the area just outside the Latin Church in Gaza while the Christian community was praying: “Holy Mary, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.”
Evergreen trees (including oak and pine) scorched by phosphorus and other bombs in South Lebanon. Trees that have been around for hundreds & thousands of years. Now reduced to burnt skeletons. And how will this land be replanted with chemicals seeping into its soil?

Israel threw white phosphorus bombs into greenland in the vicinity of the Mays Al Jabal hospital in s. Leb this afternoon. The land is on fire and has the potential to spread quickly since much of the greenery is dry. Killing the land quickly, killing patients in the hosp slowly
“pro-Hezbollah media?” their freaking uncle, journalist Samir Ayoub, covered in blood from the blast, was on live TV describing his nieces’ charred bodies and how he pulled their screaming mother out of their car.
BREAKING: 🇮🇱 IDF drone strike on a vehicle in southern Lebanon results in killing of three people, with pro-Hezbollah media claiming the victims were children.
That [very normal] moment when you’re sitting in Beirut and every person sitting outside collectively looks up as Israeli warplanes violate our airspace over and over and over again
Today is Liberation Day, marking 24 yrs since South Lebanon was liberated from Israeli occupation, which lasted from 1985-2000, during which Israel forcefully displaced, tortured& killed countless lives. Here’s to a day where we see the end of the occupation in the region.
“my taxes”😭
boy this is not the united states our taxes aren’t building shit. our social security system is collapsed. our infrastructure hasn’t been renovated in years. so keep your awful opinions to yourself
“If Hezbollah didn’t exist Israel wouldn’t attack it and it would be peaceful”
When has history ever proven that you can peacefylly coexist with a colonizing entity in the Global South without them trying to seize more land (which they continue to try to do in Lebanon)?
A woman and her child were just killed in an Israeli airstrike on Sawwaneh, South Lebanon. Where is the international news? Where is the outcry over the “civilian deaths” you so love to differentiate?
since trump is in my city today i want to thank him for making racist assholes more confident in public .
Thanks to you , a Sudani refugee I tutor has been called the n word & was told to go back to his country on A SCHOOL BUS. He’s 9 and has PTSD . he did not need this.
Deir Qanoun Al Nahr, South Lebanon tonight. People awakened to their houses crumbling over their heads because of an Israeli airstrike, which attacked a reportedly two+ story building . A dystopic scene. Casualties reported
“Leb women are not oppressed” he says as a 14 year old just committed suicide because her parents wanted to marry her off, as women are murdered by their husbands with no retribution, as women cannot pass their citizenship to their children, as women are called sluts for
Many come and live amongst us, eat our food, learn our language, join academic and social circles, only for them to show us that they really don’t care about us as human beings, only as subjects worth researching, only as cash cows for them to market their $200 books on us.
Far too many scholars do not love the people of the middle east, or the colonized, or the victims of genocidal war, or those that live life in slow death. Instead, they find all of these people “interesting”
You can tell how quickly The Telegraph changed its sources after the IATA disproved their allegations completely throwing out their credibility from the window. The updates weren’t spared of grammatical mistakes. Lol.
Why would the Telegraph release such an article today? They’re trying to convince the world that the airport would be a reasonable target, that targeting civilians is inevitable.
“The IDF would have no choice but to react, potentially placing civilians in harm’s way.”
I can’t stomach the idea that Israel has outright exclaimed that it will invade Lebanon way more times than I can count on my fingers and replicate what it has done in Gaza in Lebanon and the world’s leaders see that as Absolutely Normal Behavior™️
Gazan journalist Wael El Dahdouh only surviving son, journalist Hamza El Dahdouh, was just martyred by an Israeli airstrike directly targeting journalists in Khan Younis. Wael and his daughter are the only ones surviving from the family. Israel is wiping out entire families.
It’s kind of ironic, a tragic comedy even, how the MENA region, and specifically the Levant, is constantly stricken with one tragedy after the other. And how do you rush to try to recover from one tragedy when you haven’t recovered from the last one?
Why would the Telegraph release such an article today? They’re trying to convince the world that the airport would be a reasonable target, that targeting civilians is inevitable.
“The IDF would have no choice but to react, potentially placing civilians in harm’s way.”
Delivery workers
@toters_delivery
are on strike today to raise their minimum wage from 18,000 LL to 35,000 LL. What they make now doesn’t even amount to a third of a dollar. Can’t express how important this strike is. All the solidarity with them✊🏻❤️
Isra*l has carried several airstrikes in Baalbek tonight, northern half of Lebanon. Isra*l continues its attempts to expand the war, to solicit a “major” response from Hezb to possibly justify a large-scale destructive war on or invasion of Lebanon.
How are you as a Lebanese person posting about Mathew Perry’s death while being silent for the past three weeks when our neighbors and own people and country are being ravaged and attacked and destroyed?
Four victims removed from under the rubble of a building attacked by an Israeli airstrike tonight on Nabatieh. Amongst the martyrs are a mother and daughter. Israel killed three children in Lebanon today. I don’t have any words to explain the outrage anymore.
the way Gino raidy uses the words “ sulta, nizam” etc instead of just translating them reminds me of western academics who don’t know a drop of arabic but will write stuff like “ãl hûkùmà àl luubnâniïyya” to sound more knowledgable and connected
I know this is well meaning & these people clearly have Euro features but we have to stop with the phenotype argument. Indigenous Palestinians can go from having super blonde to super black hair or be super light to super dark toned. And none of them belong less than the other.
The Lebanese army & UNIFIL just found the body of two shepherds in the South of Lebanon, killed by direct Israeli fire. Not because they were caught in crossfire. Nope. Because Isra*l just shot at them. While doing their job. How many more must die until the world does something?
six people are dead, sixty people are injured, and people are scared for their fucking lives. maybe it’s not the best time to make jokes about it????????????????????????
What else there for one to say other than what’s been said about Isra*l scorching our lands savagely?
Anyway, Khiam, in South Lebanon endured very intense white phosphorus shelling last night. Everything else I have to say might get me banned off this app
Israel has just targeted a pickup truck in South Lebanon. Early reports claim that 4 civilians were in the car. Israel is deliberately attacking and killing civilians, moments after killing 2 journalists doing their jobs. Where is the international condemnation?
A lot of people might view Westerners relocating to Lebanon while working a remote job as something “good”. But oh boy is it bad. Increased gentrification, the driving up of all sorts of costs, and who knows what else. Local renters are going ballistic because foreigners are
Don’t you love being a Lebanese woman & finding out on a random Wednesday that another basketball player was granted Lebanese citizenship by the cabinet themselves (wow, they’re doing something?) when you still can’t pass on your citizenship if you married a non-Lebanese?
What a disgrace it is for a research fellow and a university professor whose job is to shape the minds of the future to go on her social media and say something so blatantly unnuanced. A specialization in conflict resolution and this is the solution you came up with? Embarrassing
One page labeled “Top Secret” outlines a plan of attack for Kfar Sa’ad, saying “Combat unit 1” is directed to “contain the new Da’at school,” while “Combat unit 2” is to “collect hostages,” “search the Bnei Akiva youth center” and “search the old Da’at school.”
oh to get rid of the sick obsession western people have when they see a person from MENA/ South Asia/ Africa with bright features and then suddenly start believing they deserve humanitarian aid because “they can look like us too”
Lebanon is descending into an even deeper state of bigotry, hate, and oppression. The country is collapsing my all means and yet people think the priority and solution to these problems is attacking pro-LGBTQ+ protestors in Beirut. no words.
Truly impressive how many Arab/minority hating academics have been able to so easily make their ways into universities in Lebanon, Egypt, and so on. They teach and walk the halls of universities here with such an air of superiority, as if they’re gracing us with their presence
Such a shame seeing people/activists/influencers whatever u want to call them using the language of the oppressor when reporting on today’s attack on Beirut. People were killed. A residential area was attacked. You never stop realizing how some lives matter more than others
Israel struck Ghazieh, a town in the Sidon area - 49 km from the border. Israel continues to try to taunt Lebanon into a wider scale war- assumably waiting for Hezb to “slip” so the blame can shift on them an international scale to justify Israeli collective punishment on Leb
If Lebanon were to conduct a mock raid and throw thermal balloons over the occupied lands, Isra*l and its allies would declare a war over Lebanon in no time. Tonight, Isra*l is doing exactly over Beirut and the northern part of Lebanon & not one country will tell them anything.
News spreading about a wife murdering her husband in Leb. WOW it is so interesting to see how differently people react to a woman murderer with such intensity, vs how they’ve been reacting to 10s of domestic violence cases where Lebanese women were murdered 1/.
Israel targeted 3 UN observers & a translator in South Lebanon today. In some twisted way, it feels like a message to UN personnel, the world, and the UN Security Council following their latest decision: “ we are above any law/decision, and you can’t do anything about it.”
At least 8 violent air raids took place at midnight on Bekaa, particularily Baalbak Hermel tonight. The air raids continue as many residents are stuck in their homes, with nothing else to do but wait for the raids to stop.
it’s frustrating how the american society sees Middle Easterns as a minority group and not white, but when it comes to scholarship applications we’re lumped into the same category as them, stripping us from our minority status in the US and erasing our history of discrimination
a guy in my program : “ don’t go to marseille it’s dangerous and has a bunch of immigrants it reminds me of the middle east”
also him : “ oh where are you from?”
me: “the middle east”
NOW you want to try the hummus i make huh austin
Israel is talking about shifting its strategies towards Lebanon from “defense to offense” as if the murder of 65+ civilians in their homes and on the streets including journalists in big PRESS vests and paramedics sitting in the ambulance centers was solely “defense”
You not knowing the Arabic language in depth or not reading Arabic literature/poetry etc does not mean it is a dying language. There are so many worlds that exist beyond social media and pop culture, in homes, in villages, in literature, in written word.
This is a picture of my grandparents taken in Deir Mimas, my mom’s home town and home of the country’s (imo) best olives and olive oil. This year, our family and the town’s residents have been forced to flee due to Israel deliberately targeting the small town, for /1
i don’t care how much i can gain from an internship if it’s unpaid. how am i expected to support myself as a grad student if i have to devote crazy hours to an obligatory internship that promises me ‘experience’ in exchange for my time and qualifications for free. it’s inhumane
it is actually insane how many Westerners/Zionists in these comments actually think Lebanese people deserve these horrors. And they reconfirm what we all know: they do not see Arabs as humans.
Israel has once again attacked yet another ambulance center in Odaisseh, South Lebanon today. Three killed and one wounded so far. So many war crimes documented, so much inaction
In this piece, I explore the environmental & economic costs of Israel's illegal use of incendiary weapons in Lebanon, scorching over 5 million square meters of green land. As such, Israel continues to breach IHL, inflicting damage on an already-vulnerable agricultural sector.

@Michelle3id
writes on the pervasive long-term harms of white phosphorus on agriculture, biodiversity, & the economy:
in my humble opinion if i were michel el murr and i was seeing all these memes being written about me on twitter i would simply move away from lebanon and change my name
@ZEROSUlTSAMUS
I think it’s also important to note that a place doesn’t have to be “pretty” for the bombing to be condemned. They’re bombing mundane towns with people living mundane lives. We don’t have to prove to westerners that places dont deserve to be bombed because of how they look
Journalists in Lebanon targeted once again by Israeli fire. One month after the murder of journalist Issam Abdallah and the injury of other journalists, all also directly targeted by Israeli airstrikes.
Lebanon has not always been a safe space for women. So many women over the past decade have been abused & killed by their partners. We have never felt safe walking alone at night, especially with the plethora of catcalling from all directions. This is not new.
This should not go unpunished! Lebanon has always been a safe space for women
Incidents like this are becoming more common.. we need to act FAST
These animals must be dealt with
attacking places of worship and people in these places is against international law. but then again, why mention international law when israel has managed to breach EVERY single one without being punished
