@carsonfrancis22 @gglasser23 I believe it was the NW bracket for D1 or 2 on the girls side has 3 teams. 1 seed gets an auto bid to the district title. Basically one of those 3 teams will win a district title every season. Wild

@DerryArea @mar5hallhoops 🎯 there’s a reason Euro players are over taking the NBA. They’re more skilled even if they’re less athletic and that once again goes back to the grassroots set up

Basketball IQ is awful now a days. My theory is kids don’t watch basketball as much as they used to (cell phone and short attention span era) and lack of pick up games. Used to play a ton of pick up games with no adults around, no one yelling directions at you, you just had to figure it out on your own. I also feel like that era loved winning more than anything, if you lost you were off the playground and waiting a while to play again, now a days most kids would rather score 25 in a loss than 10 in a win

@DerryArea @mar5hallhoops Yep too much money and egos. In Europe they don’t play anything competitively until like 12 or 13 it’s all skill building before that. Even when they do start competitive play it’s 85/15 practice to playing. AAU is the exact opposite, 1-2 practices then 3-6 games on the weekend

@candid_coach @mar5hallhoops I don’t know but there’s more AAU teams, circuits and tournaments than ever. Hell they got 2nd & 3rd graders playing which is a joke. Numbers of players is at an all time high but skill is at an all time low

@TitleMike614 I mean think about it the number of kids playing AAU is at an all time high yet skill is at an all time low. Parents think they’re missing out and their kid is gonna fall behind… skill building> AAU practice once or twice a week and 6 tournament games on the weekend.

@LNGB_Coach @alyxwhite_ Talked to a coach who literally said he was just going to basically play them as scrimmages because the brackets are already set and nothing changes it. Seems like an unproductive structure

Like I said it’d be like the NCAA doing selection Sunday then having teams play another few regular season games that have zero bearing on the ncaa tournament bracket because it’s already set. Should be selection Sunday then the tournament starts that Wednesday or Thursday. Give team 2-3 practices and get it started

That makes sense. Yea here we have a RPI system that ranks teams in the district. The draw happens and coaches select a spot on the bracket and matchups are locked in. After that each teams play 3-4 regular season games but it has no bearing on the RPI or brackets because everything is already set. It makes those games basically meaningless outside of maybe settling a conference champ but I still feel like all that should be structure to be done before the draw.

@mar5hallhoops FACTS! I always tell kids go look at college rosters, tell me how many players are 20+PPG, how many are 15+, 10+? Meanwhile there’s teams FULL of kids thinking they’re “scorers”
