Occurred to me this morning that Pearnel Sr who was incarcerated under 1976 SoE lived to see his two children elected to Parliament, meanwhile Duncan, a key member of Manley’s team during that period has lived to see the Jamaican electorate unequivocally reject his two daughters.

The fact that this accused wasn’t taken into custody is a big part of our inability to reduce crime. Now a lot of intelligence is lost. No doubt his demise will be celebrated as swift justice but it isn’t, its a showcase for some inadequacy within our crime fighting setup.

Twitter has given me a whole new understanding of Jamaican society and its different layers. The political class isn’t the sole reason for Jamaica’s anaemic progress since independence. No state can progress when ignorance is a hallmark of each group within our society.

Become more conscious shoppers, everytime you feel for KFC, go and support the pan chicken vendor! KFC has been doing business for many decades and while they aren’t a charity, we are disappointed in the lack of innovation to keep workers on staff. Dem nuh loyal!

KFC should be ashamed of themselves. For a company that benefits so much from Jamaica’s goodwill and support, I’m disappointed. How could they be laying off staff in a time like this after just a short period of slow sales?

PM Holness is well qualified for lecture, firstly as recipient of declaration from JA court that his actions were unconstitutional. Secondly, as chief marketer of now serial-routine and diminished tool of SoE which Constition identifies as an exceptional measure👏🏿 #lifeisgood !

PBunting spotted oncoming shift in the economic dynamics early, now a month later Dr Clarke has to call on IMF for their rapid response financial support. Now we will truly know if Dr Clarke is the best finance minister this country has ever seen. Tire hitting hot road!

So I became curious about the timeline for filing a claim for sexual harassment. Jamaica proposes 12 months. Is this an appropriate length of time? In this regard, the limitation period in other jurisdictions might provide a useful point of reflection.

@guruintraining_ Life in general: 1) try to be kind and respectful to all; 2) don’t just talk about things you want to do, take even the smallest steps to realize them; 3) be deliberate in building your support network; 4) live in present but be forward looking; and 5) imptly be honest with you.

In all of this, he remains a victim of a crime in which the perpetrator remains at large. This perpetrator may have been ignorant to his identity. Thus by naming him and highlighting his high position in the justice system may well have increased his risk profile.

Political memory jog. Stoking discrimination against homosexuals or persons perceived as such has long been a part of our politics. So there was a time when Papa Eddie on a political stage accused PJ of being gay, using words, “no one had ever accused him of Boom, bye, bye."

We often talk about values and attitudes of those in economic struggle and leave unexamined values and attitudes of those who are well off. I go further, that most assume that the economically able are intellectually advanced and are morally upright in contrast to other groups.

So the commissioner of police is covid positive? Who else was exposed in the JCF? If JDF and JCF are under Covid watch who will provide security for our elections. Once more, the recklessness of the decision to call election into an upsurge is being shown for all to see.
