Dear applicant, We had nearly 400 applications and they were of a very high standard. I’m writing to let you know that unfortunately we have not shortlisted you for interview. this will be disappointing news.
As we are a very small team we aren’t able to offer feedback.
I’m just a them, standing in front of the theatre industry, asking for a paid trainee/assistance producer job with a company thats has a clear experience/policy/infrastructure for disabled people.
How the hell are people putting on shows? With arts council acceptance rate at an all time low, and applications needing to be submitted twice with a review time of 9 weeks each timw. How the hell is this supposed work?
Any one know of any paid or unpaid theatre producing training? (Not Masters or a fee required course!) Just got another rejection for unpaid training, 2nd in 2 months. Feeling rough and hopeless. I’m just a disabled queer that just wants to learn!

Any neurodiverse movement directors out there or movement directors that specialise in bodies not ‘naturally flexible’? Just making list, no timeframe.
The Dream:
- A salary job.
- To live in a queer house.
- To be supported (both as disabled and queer person)
- To lose the nuts.TMI
- To co-create and build a theatrical large scale story.
If the lowest paid member of staff has no idea when the highest paid member of staff or leadership does, then the company is being ran wrong. (Especially in the theatre world).
‘Please do not feel disheartened, we simply could not interview as many people as we would have liked to.
Similarly, due to the large number of applications, I am afraid we are unable to offer individual application feedback at this stage.’

Both characters don’t have emotions capcity for love, but cooking food is their love. and want that love to be transferred to the food and it to mean to their audience.
Artist: Can you support me?
NPO: Have you applied to our highly competitive hyperlocal small (under £1000) funding pot?
Artist: I’m not based in that area.
NPO: Speak to us in a year (if you’re still in the industry).
Repeat, Repeat, Repeat.
Whats the most accessible london (or wider uk) ‘fringe’ venue? E.g ramp/no steps entrance, regular holds captions/relaxed performances and can be rented/hosted by outside companies for one night events at reasonable rates?
Looking for Access Worker from Dec onwards. 5 hours a week (2 and half hours each Thursday and Friday afternoon). Require good admin skills, first task is going through pervious workers notes and making clear task list. (Warning: I have detailed access riders). (Pay 30 an hour).
Heres a sudden niche intrest: Does anyone remember The Hoobs, early 2000’s, made by Jim Henson Company, puppets as aliens in a singing van, exploring how human interact,etc.. and Know where I can watch it? (without paying a silly amount).
Thought: Why isn’t there a free ferry for the channel crossing? Why are the British public so adamant to ignore the lives of people whom to and will improve the state of this country?
Looking for access support worker for myself on 27th of July, to attend day meetings and Richard III in evening with RSC in Stratford upon Avon. Accommodation can be offered and travel paid for.
DM's are open, - Fee to be discussed with RSC.

This! Past two years ain’t changed things, be honest, don’t weeks post closing dates start expecting people to drop things for interviews the next day. And don’t get annoyed with people when we put boundaries in, cuz u know some have learnt from things.
ACE Project Grant REJECTED! We decided not to support your application this time because:
Whilst we recognise the aspirations and intentions behind this proposal regarding support for disabled led artistic practice, it would strengthen the application to provide greater clarity.
Why has ‘theatre’ built itself around the office environment and play as a final result/finishing line? Shouldn’t the opposite be true? Is this capitalism or have we made a choice somewhere?
How does one deal with irritability when getting overwhelmed/too many plates spinning? Don’t say put down some plates, the theatre industry has gone from 5 to 500 mph and theres gonna be crash!
All these cancellations show that we have not build back better. There need to be more ownership and calling out of people's errors.
(And don't just be blaming the government, they don't run theatre companies (and have shown many times that they have no care for the theatre)
More than a few years a later, it was made clear that we need to stop talking about change, actually do change. Why do I feel only a few organisations got this message?
@ry_nh_y
Real interesting that this also happened post vaults, but no work been done to ensure that this industry isn’t being held up by drama schools and fringe festivals (see ed fringe jobs posts and nothings changed from years ago)

It is a privilege to care. "The thing is, when you come from a place where speaking up was never an option, you get to a place where it becomes the only option. The only way to live. " 🔥🔥

Access to work is a bane! Of course, the order of postage and recipient of postage didn’t happen in the same order. This doesn’t mean I have to print and send them again! And maybe if you actually worked in the modern age, this issue wouldn’t be occurring!
The dictionary definition of ‘Utopia’ is ‘A place which does not exist’.
Autopia: A place which does not (yet) exist.
Autopia will bring together autistic/neurodiverse/disabled persons to create a live productions driven by autistic, neurodiverse and disabled artists.
When you feel guilty (and lost) not being able to hire an access worker anymore cause ‘DYCP’ money is running out, and Access to Work is seven months behind (so won’t get in touch for another two months). That feeling.

As someone with a town train station that has a ‘big button’ point, it causes more nervousness, as its technology, and people inherently don’t trust it.
The mindset of ‘you never know unless you ask’ is revolutionary to me. The fact that 10 years ago i just couldn’t do it, and now its comes so naturally that i don’t realise how easily i’ve opened the door.
Anyone wanna help me write applications for ACE Project Grant/ Paul Hamlyn Ideas Fund? Paid.
Idea: Autopia - A place that does not yet exist.
a 5day workshop which would bring together a team of 8 Autistic artists and two facilitators to explore what ‘best practice’ looks like.
When you get rejected by a training programme cause you’re in the wrong place, because being in the right place (London) requires having a magic money tree and no disabilities!

There is always time if the employer cares. Or you make time because you care about you (or should do over any show). Saying ‘no’ has more power than we give it.
