The Thurles staff came together in an emotional retirement celebration for Finn and Bernie in a packed ‘ref’! Professor Eugene Wall, thanked them for their outstanding and dedicated service. Des Carswell, and Paula Hourigan and her daughter, Aisling, provided the music.
It has always been a joy, privilege and pleasure to work with our fourth-year students! We are very sad to see them go, but so proud and pleased to see and remember all they have achieved after four amazing years, and we wish them every success and happiness in the future! ❤️
Our soccer team have done the impossible, they’ve fought all the way to final, beating every team along the way and against all the odds have have now beaten UCC to become all Ireland champions in a fiercely contested final!!

At 11.11am MIC Thurles joined thousands of other students across the country in walking out of lectures to protest against the rising cost of living and the effects it is having on young people - highlighting the risk of students dropping out of courses due to financial burdens.

The energy was palpable at the Awards Night in the Anner Hotel, as the college celebrated its many sporting heroes and achievements, and marked the passing of Adam Kirwan and Aisling Murphy in its own unique and distinct way.

We were delighted to welcome Rory, Deirdre and Rob from MIC IFUT to Thurles as they launched the important ‘Precarious Employment in HE’ report, highlighting workers’ rights, gender inequalities, exploitation, lack of support and career progression in higher education.
It is always such an honour and a privilege to be at the MIC Student Awards Evening - and to celebrate the success of the Thurles students as they received their awards!
