My experience has been similar to OP’s, according to the replies it’s not ubiquitous. Also seems like it might be more successful for us white women than WOC
The single best thing I can suggest for women who want to prevent men from bothering them & unsolicited "flirting", is to Wear a mask. For real, it's made me invisible to men & I couldn't be more thankful. They immediately divert their eyes and continue on w their day.
