The paper is out! - HLA-I hyperexpressed in islets of single and double autoantibody positive donors prior to clinical diagnosis - HLA-I mostly expressed on alpha cells irrespective of disease status - HLA-I accumulates in Golgi in AAB+ and T1D donors
New #diabetes research: LJI team reports a very early, islet-intrinsic immune-independent increase of HLA-I during diabetes pathogenesis. Research points towards a role for alpha cells in #T1D
