Contrarian opinion: you can learn to write a clean first draft (and edit as you go). Read through it once for mistakes, send it off for publication, then move on to your next project. The trap is endlessly editing or thinking the first draft will necessarily be a mess.

@S_D_Donovan I know it's kind of tit for tat, but I do the same. I mean, if I'm following an author who has about the same X footprint as me, I kinda expect them to follow back. If they don't, then I'm not interested in supporting them either. I know many are clueless as to follows. Still ;)
