UEFA has always cared about fans but somehow still kept 50% of the tickets for the Champions League Finals and gave them to CEOs, politicians and people in the board of the Federations.
Oh so France Football created the Striker of the Year thing and gave it to Lewandowski to properly rob him the Ballon D'Or next huh? Messi winning this award is laughable.
Must be hard for Agüero to see that he's played 4408 more Champions League minutes than the 19-year-old Camavinga but doesn't have this picture in his resume.
Luka Modric turns 37 years old today, still going strong as an undisputed starter in Real Madrid.
For context:
-Xavi was playing in 🇶🇦 at that age.
-Iniesta in 🇯🇵
-Pirlo, Gerrard and Lampard in the MLS.
Best midfielder of his generation and it's not even close. Don't @ me.
Real Madrid and its fans have EVERY RIGHT to feel like Mbappe and his camp used their interest to get the biggest contract in football history from PSG.
Real Madrid are not a tool.
2017: Mbappe turns down Real Madrid's offer and decides to "wait a few years" before fulfilling his dream.
2022: Mbappe, now a free agent, turns down Real Madrid's offer.
Can't imagine Real Madrid ever trying to sign Mbappe again. This is over, folks.
Kroos' farewell hurt more than Raul's, Casillas', Ramos', Cristiano's, Marcelo's or Benzema's just because he retired as a Real Madrid. It's the decisive factor for me.
He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all madristas.
Mbappe is a truly astonishing and phenomenal player. Madrid would be a better team and I wanted him to sign.
BUT, by looking at his (and his camp's) behavior during this saga, I can tell you that this guy would've created certain issues inside the club sooner or later.
Rudiger deserved this iconic moment, this highlight. He's carried Real Madrid's defense all year long after the devastating injuries to Militao and Alaba. What a player.
You built your team with Camavinga wasted as a LB and Tchouameni on the bench to keep giving minutes to Kroos and Modric. It worked against poor teams like Liverpool and Chelsea and now it's costing you when you're truly tested.
How can any FC Barcelona fan laugh about the fact that Real Madrid will be facing PSG in the Round of 16 when their team is about to play on Thursdays?
Just to add to this
#BallonDor
debate let me say that I believe winning the
#NationsLeague
is way tougher than winning the current version of the Copa America.
Kroos nailed it. This is how Real Madrid legends should retire. Do you need the millions in the MLS or in Saudi Arabia? Wouldn't you rather experience THIS?
That's the way you do it,
@ToniKroos
Real Madrid have spent €135M on the Tchouameni-Valverde-Camavinga midfield. Not as great as the €70 million for Casemiro-Kroos-Modric, but not bad at all.
This guy will play for Morocco and not for Spain because the Spanish Football Federation have simply refused to call him while other players like Eric Garcia were starting in the World Cup.
Real Madrid are just three points behind Barcelona right now because Valverde managed to score from outside the box during an entire month basically.
This is the reality of this team and has been for a while.
Real Madrid won no trophies last season, lost Zidane and somehow thought that the only improvement needed was signing 18-year old Camavinga and appointing Everton FC coach Carlo Ancelotti as the manager.
🤷♂️
I can't be surprised about this performance.
Rudiger to Real Madrid OFFICIAL. Mendy now expected to be a reserve as long as Militao, Alaba and Rudiger stay healthy. Alaba to move to the LB spot, which would help the team's offense (and Vinicius) quite a lot.
About Camavinga: Three/four years ago, Real Madrid decided to let the raw Vinicius play through his mistakes so that he could reach his potential.
It's time to give this young man more minutes.
🚨 | Casemiro is aware of the writing on the wall. Real Madrid just spent €80 million on Tchouameni, he's 30 years old and not as consistent as before. This contract with United will likely be his last big deal in elite football and wants to take advantage of that opportunity.
Just sign someone who truly wants to play for you. Bellingham and Tchouameni proved they wanted to be here. Find an attacker who is willing to do the same.
It's clear at this point that Mbappe is not that guy.
Emery: "What Pique did on our game against Barcelona WAS a clear penalty and it wasn't called. Then he goes on Twitter to talk about Real Madrid-Valencia. He shouldn't be confounding people"
Parejo: "People call me 'drunk' and I don't confront anyone. Phenomenal player, but we have to focus on playing football. There are scuffles in every game and Vinicius seems to always be involved."
Yes, Parejo thinks 'drunk' is as serious as calling a black person 'monkey'
Real Madrid need to make sure of one thing, and one thing only now that Kroos is leaving.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT try to find a Kroos replacement, someone who replicates what Kroos does on the field. That player doesn't exist.
Play to the strengths of your other midfielders.
Easy to point fingers at Vinicius, I've read several Spanish journalists thinking he should be suspended for at least one game.
Here's a pic of Elche-Athletic, matchday 1. No suspension, no controversy whatsoever.
Isco will play his last match as a Real Madrid player tonight.
Curiously enough, he made his debut against Betis and with Carlo Ancelotti as his manager too.
End of a cycle.
Toni Kroos has no business retiring next summer considering the way he's playing now that he's quit the German NT. It's still his call, obviously, but he has SO MUCH football left in the tank when managed properly.
All things considered, this has to be one of the best Champions League titles in Real Madrid history. And there are a few of them so choose from.
But man, we enjoyed this one.
The Varane to United saga is not going to take very long before it's done. Both clubs want to complete the deal over the next few days. United and Madrid still discussing for a few millions but the move will be official soon.
With Camavinga, Real Madrid can't make the same mistakes they did with players like Jovic, Rodrygo or Brahim. He's 18 years old and needs minutes.
Ancelotti will have to find him a role.
Koke: "They give you the ball and sit back"
Yes, Koke from Simeone's Atletico de Madrid is complaining about others teams allegedly playing defensively.
This guy deserves a lot of credit. There's no comeback without
@thibautcourtois
' HUGE saves late in the game. He deserves this Champions League title. Has been the world's best GK for more than a year now.
