@addictionandlo1 @ABCTNOW @EmCarrino Yes, it’s been a model of abstinence first, relationship second. My dissertation is on developing a non-abstinence based treatment that flips this model - we should talk!

@addictionandlo1 @ABCTNOW @EmCarrino Absolutely. Couples where one or both partners who use substances and aren’t interested in abstinence need more options for treatment that meet them where they are. especially options that recognize the importance of the relationship and don’t dismiss them as “enablers”.
