Yeah I don’t understand which is why I’m asking so I can better understand the thread. I do understand that private for profit companies do often benefit from on the back of non-profit research but it was not clear to me that this was what that is because in the thread maybe I missed the part about the research he is doing and its application?

@Alpenostrand @trajan317 For whom? Meaning since it’s a govt grant is it research on behalf of the govt? And/or for the economic benefit of the govt?

My only concerns are the re-skilling of the cut workforce and how their retirement packages might have factored into their family/life decisions. Telling people they can stop working until Sept and get paid while looking for a new job or maybe go on vacation might not resonate with their mindset around financial security. So we have to be careful. A govt worker may not have cultivated the resilience which comes from choosing life as an entrepreneur or investor.

@trajan317 I’m confused. Authentically. So you applied to a program where you get a mentor and $100k a year. (Depending on expenses) and what are you required to do each year? Because you say “no teaching” so what’s the output of all the inputs (your current degrees + mentor+ $100k)?

Avocados there look expensive. In NY we can get avocados $.99 usually each week at least at one of the nearby stores. Poppi at $20 id also consider a luxury if you care about your bill. Totally reasonable to like it and buy it but if the goal is keep costs per week down I’d say that stuff has to go.
