Jesse on Valavuori’s twitch show. He thinks he has found his role in the team. Strong skating and physical play, forechecking and creating space. Getting puck to Connor. He even said that actually him scoring is when he gets the puck to Connor.

Jesse is happy with his new contract with the Oilers. He said that the salary was not an issue. Main thing for him was that Oilers really want him there and are willing to try to get the most out of him. He wants to help the team and develop himself too.

His goal for the coming season is to play more and better. He has been training with Aho, Ruotsalainen, Hakanpää and Kuokkanen among others. And most importantly he has been healthy to being able to practice as planned. Jesse that is.

Puljujärvi tells that his role in the team has been building up gradually. He tries to give his all on ice every shift. He has simplified his game and he does not avoid battles and net front. His trademark is now a hard worker.

He struggled with his hips all last season. He could play, but the hips weren't good. The amount of maintenance was insane according to Pulju and he also took painkillers in order to being able to play….

Got to watch the Oilers - Blue Jackets game with Finnish commentary. Ville Nieminen (won Stanley Cup with Colorado) and Ismo Lehkonen (Artturi’s father but merited on his own right) were giving some high praises on Puljujärvi although he was not playing.

According to Puljujärvi coach Tippett has emphasized him two things. First is battling and the second one is more important. He wants Jesse to smile when skating. My take on this is that this is definately a sign that Tippett knows what he is doing.

Well here is a thought. When Puljujärvi has been in the Oilers’ lineup since he was drafted,
Oilers first ten games from the season start with him 33-15-2.

Puljujärvi’s goal for the season was to get to play (in the NHL). He tries to play to his strenghts, shift by shif and game by game. He is also quoted saying nothing special so far, it is hard work every day.
