It’s been 6 months since Final Fantasy XVI released. This is one of the most divisive FF games but often gets more hate, similar to FFVIII & FFXIII. FFXVI has flaws but it was an incredible experience for me & I’ll never forget it. I prefer games to be special than to be perfect.

1 year ago on this day, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII was revealed to be the 8th DLC Fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at The Game Awards 2020. It was the day he brought Smash despair. I can’t believe it’s been exactly a year already, time sure flies.

Outside of Cloud, Yuffie is easily my favorite to play as & I’ve enjoyed her fighting play style since INTERmission. Not only that, but Yuffie’s character in FFVII Remake & Rebirth is much better than in the OG FFVII & now she’s one of my favorite Female Final Fantasy Characters!

Cloud is my main, & I dislike his color alts, aside the Advent Children Costume since I like that one a lot. I wish one of his boring color alts was replaced by his Kingdom Hearts Costume because I love that design of Cloud in that game. He looks so cool & badass!

Would you look at that? Final Fantasy XVI is now $35. I paid full price on release day but I don’t regret it because I loved FFXVI overall & it’s in my Top 3 Games of 2023 despite what all the annoying haters say about this game. FFXVI is my FFVIII of this Final Fantasy era. 😊

Tifa Lockhart. Don’t be me wrong, Tifa is a good character & has her great moments but when people say she’s easily the best & most complex FF Heroine, I just don’t agree. I find other FF Heroines more interesting & deep, such as Aerith & Yuna. Tifa just pales in comparison IMO.

Nah, I still don’t like it. I may not have the perfect rectangle, but I don’t care about perfection because I prefer to see every fighter with their slots, including the Echo Fighters. Having Echo Fighters stacked with the original fighters doesn’t feel right to me.

What?! Dude, Dragon Quest is the grandfather/foundation of JRPGs, without it, huge popular franchises like Pokémon & Final Fantasy wouldn’t be what they are today since those series took huge inspirations from Dragon Quest. I think Dragon Quest truly deserved its spot in Smash.
