Anyway...I do not agree; yes, retro running shoes are hot atm, but the shoes that Hoka makes are 100% not the "new streetwear." Imo, Hoka would benefit if it were less self-satisfied about making ugly shoes that perform and introduced some more attractive, retro-inspired uppers.

People will watch this and say influencer marketing is dying but no, it's actually growing...a lot. The reality is the vast majority of individuals can't sustain high $$ for very long. It's like modeling, the labels love you today, but then get bored and move on to the next girl.
This creator with 500k followers went from making $100k+ in brand deals in 2023 to basically $0 so far this year…

The other thing about this BoF chart is there's zero recognition of streetwear or Black-owned labels. FOG is def making more money than a lot of these brands and Kith, AMM, JFG, ALD, Stüssy, Corteiz, Wales Bonner and Martine Rose are all more relevant than many on this list.

There are a number of things kith does really well. Kith is like the “cooler” more hip version of Ralph Lauren. Ronnie has done a great job of creating a fan base that is aging with him.. And have the money to buy his product. ALD is on the same wave.

Tiffany was acquired by LVMH so of course it’s going to try and make a connection with young people. It may be a brand with a storied history but it hasn’t been relevant for a very long time and was losing customers.
painful to see tiffany go from making beautiful things with elsa peretti to shoehorning themselves into every pop culture/ "streetwear" trend, like so many other companies that have lost confidence and are now flailing around trying to capture young luxury money
