@sicksadke She was versatile as a model too. It’s crazy that the reason she started acting is because her agency told her to.

@thedollxayla I know the reference, but I also know that people believe that there’s no corsetry used in the garment. So it was really a clarification.

I think Halston is just as important to American fashion as Cristobal Balenciaga or Dior is to French fashion. Halston and Bonnie Cashin are the two most important American designers of the 20th century.
Just found out my favorite Carrie look of all time is in the FIT Museum — this camel-colored Halston ultrasuede shirtwaist dress from 1972, irresistible

The same Karl Largerfeld that at one point worked as a freelance designer for Valentino Garavani. Karl and Valentino were friends and admirers of each other’s work. If you all are still going to make up narratives make them believable.

No it’s actually printed first. There’s this documentary Issey did in 2002 and they were discussing the Lithuanian Olympic uniforms. So what they do is map out the pattern and blow it up and stretch it so that it will be the correct proportion when completed.
I need to know if issey miyake prints and then pleats the fabric or first pleats and then prints on the pleated fabric.

@murdamamitianni Doesn’t bringing them out to wear like that not only causes potential damage like wine stains and thing like that, but also can damage fibers with a person’s natural oils and sweat?.

@dresshistories God that Bridgerton dress looks like the dress every middle school girl of the early 2000s wore to their first dance.

@thedollxayla You cannot make a garment like that with that level of quality without some sort of base. I feel as if a lot of people are thinking of old 19th century corsetry. Ultimately it’s like building a house without a strong foundation. Possible, but won’t bode well.
