I'm enormously honoured to have been selected by Morecambe and Lunesdale members to be Labour's candidate at the next general election. It's a huge task to win an election but I know that as a team we can deliver the change so desperately needed in M&L and the country at large.

There's great potential in this polling but I know to make this a reality my team and I will have to run a great campaign. Everyone in Morecambe and Lunesdale deserves a great MP - let's hope I can persuade voters I'm the right person to deliver for them.

I'd love another reactor at Heysham. Nuclear has to be part of the urgent removal of fossil fuels from our power supply. Batteries will play their part but have their own problems and are not advanced enough to be the only source of baseline power.

This is a minister of HM Government. The complete lack of understanding of the actual problem of street homelessness is embarrassing. The cruelty is unforgivable.
The British people are compassionate. We will always support those who are genuinely homeless. But we cannot allow our streets to be taken over by rows of tents occupied by people, many of them from abroad, living on the streets as a lifestyle choice. 1/4

I also get very grumpy at the whip system being willfully misrepresented. The 'whip' is made after a discussion within the Labour group and, usually, a consensus position reached. If there's no consensus, there's a vote. Not the Party telling us how to vote, a local decision!!
Not sure this stuff through my door is going to help me change my vote. Lived here for many many years and disingenuous stuff about my experience of Labour in Lancaster who do localism on a local and national level well is a bit lame.

There were a few years between my one A-level (grade C) and my first class degree but this news doesn't surprise me at all. Doing badly at A-level doesn't automatically mean you won't do well at university. Many will be mature or returning students like me.
I got terrible A levels and graduated with a 1st. I don’t understand the logic of this argument. I’m sure my case is typical - I was bright but didn’t go to the best schools and had challenges at home. I went to uni and seriously buckled down and I did well. No mystery

Bit grumpy at the cheek of opposition leaflets in my county division claiming you only see Labour at elections. What absolute nonsense. Especially when 2/3 of the city cllrs in the area are their team and have virtually disappeared!! I've also never encountered their candidates.

Tory MPs continue to accept money from Aquind and its owners despite the serious alarms that have been raised about the project, not least by the Ministry of Defence which expressed 'serious national security concerns'. My comment in

No one else gets away with 'I wasn't told it was against the law'. He made the laws for goodness' sake. We shouldn't forget about this, it really *is* a big deal that he broke the law then lied about it.
Again Johnson is seeking to build a case that because there was no document that advised him they were parties he couldn’t possibly think they were parties and against the rules. This is asking people to believe his own critical judgment was completely way off.
