My favorite part of the Divine Mercy story is how St Faustina was distressed about how the painting wasn't as beautiful as her vision (actually I think she said it was ugly) and when she told Jesus this He was literally like, "Yeah, I know it's bad, but my Mercy is still here."

Gonna make this my hill. The fewer strings attached, the greater the commitment to subsidiarity. Give families the help they need to flourish, and get out of the way.
Aid to poor families should be more focused on smoothing their way, not creating bureaucratic obstacles.
Many forms of aid come with so many strings attached it’s a part-time, unpaid job to keep meeting requirements.
