Children are exposed to five times more #airpollution during the #schoolrun. Highest level on main roads & near #idling vehicles = stunted lung & brain growth😱

Eli & I are proud to help @UNICEF_uk raise awareness that #ToxicAir is damaging the health of children across the UK. Our goal @LittleNinjaUK is to reduce #airpollution exposure for the children most at risk as they travel and attend nursery/school on main roads. #NO2idling

LTNs work to make councils hundreds of £millions in motorist fines. LTNs work for consulting 'charities' paid tens of £millions. LTNs work for councillors with properties inside LTNs. LTNs work for those seeking to bring in road pricing. LTNs work if you can ignore the injustice.

When Labour councils are making and relying upon hundred's of £millions from motorist fines each year, and whilst charities/lobby groups are being paid tens of £millions in consultancy fees, is a Labour government really going to prevent LTNs that don't have community consent?

@GreenJennyJones @Hoxton_mob If schemes you support exacerbate health & climate injustice, impinge civil liberties and increases road danger for those already most at risk, would you want to know? Would you stand with those most vulnerable if it meant standing against the cycle lobby?

This is what our President who is blind said about the bus stop design where you step off the bus onto a narrow bus boarder next to a cycle lane on Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest ‘Not fit for purpose. It really is totally inaccessible. These sorts of designs should be scrapped’

@JohnJohnStewart @SocEnvJustice @GreenJennyJones Thanks for reposting my message about the disproportionate impact of air pollution on Black & Asian communities and for explaining to so many that we often live in poorer neighbourhoods with more traffic.👍🏾 Can we speak about reducing traffic on community main roads & bus routes?

@GreenJennyJones Thank you Jenny. The choice of schemes to clean up our toxic air are influenced by lobby groups at meetings not attended by those most at risk. Our lived experiences are unheard. Our needs unaddressed in one-sided solutions proposed then imposed. How do we stop this injustice?

@ediz1975 I'm so sorry to hear this Ediz. I hope your wife and children are OK and their work/school are being supportive. There's £millions being made from LTNs and when there's this much money involved people do horrible things. The cycle lobby need to get their trolls under control now!

@BellRibeiroAddy @EnactEquality @Lmyah_sherae @ImpUrbanHealth @GreenJennyJones @sianberry The disproportionate impact of air pollution on Black & Asian communities has been acknowledged for years as an environmental injustice. Until we speak openly about this, the work to clean up our toxic air will make things worse for those at greatest risk.

"Environmental racism, a form of systemic racism whereby communities of colour are disproportionately burdened with health hazards through policies and practices that force them to live in proximity to sources of toxic waste such as... major roads." #LTNs

@Wen_UK @ediz1975 @TheFox89688362 Social safety is about feeling safe from threats, violence, and intimidation. It also includes feeling protected and able to communicate freely without fear of negative consequences. But when we speak out about unjust #ActiveTravel schemes, this happens.👇🏾

Highlight the truth that floating bus stops & replacing bus lanes with cycle lanes benefit affluent 25-55yo non-disabled male cyclists and disbenefit women, parents with kids, poor, elderly and disabled people and you'll become a targeted of the cycle lobby and their trolls. 👇🏾👇🏾

@APPGCW For years women have told us “I don’t feel safe walking or cycling in the roads that are cut off from cars” and that LTNs are 'socially unsafe'. @APPGCW have now joined the conversation but will they act to protect women and girls on LTN isolated roads?

@SusanneReid68 @Sd1x8Sd1x @willnorman @TfL Rather than widening bus lanes to keep cyclists safe on busy roads, bus stop bypasses are used because the cycle lobby want cyclist convenience placed above pedestrian safety and TfL are doing so. Cycling schemes should not reduce safety for vulnerable pedestrians & bus users.
