I pay them off every month.
I use the rewards for whatever I want. The credit card rewards, the Sams club rewards, the Costco rewards.

Dry January:
I have a small store, around 2000 sq ft.
My store cleared around $7k in December- after expenses, salaries, etc.
This month, we look to make about $4k. For me, it’s not critical because my 9-5 pays the bills. But to a lot of mom and pop shops this is devastating.

I’ve never had an emergency fund.
I invest everything extra.
I use credit cards if something comes up. If I don’t have enough to pay it off, I sell stocks.
Honestly, at some point if you have enough assets, you don’t need an emergency fund.
If I really need to, I could take the contributions out of my Roth IRA I could use the money in my brokerage account etc.
