I’ve narrowed it down and set a date. I’ll be leaving on my 3760km/2335mi trip back to the farm in southern Quebec on Sept 26th. Still undecided on passengers and cargo. Should I subscribe to FSD? Should I post charge rate/cost/time data, or trip progress video clips?

Yeah, it’s insane to me how people are like “that’s illegal!” but it’s not like anyone has never broke the speed limit. Duh it’s illegal, but it also looks rad, so compromises had to be made. If I get pulled over and forced to peel it off, that’s on me, I accept responsibility.

I’ve always told people that EVs don’t need more range, we just need more chargers. 300 mile rated range is all anyone needs. In a world without enough gas stations, you wouldn’t put 100 gallon gas tanks in Honda Civics. You’d just build more gas stations. Chargers drive adoption

I only plugged in for the pic. Parks Canada teamed up with Tesla a few years ago to provide charging at select locations across the country. I’d love to stop at every one. Here is Elk Island National Park in Alberta

I decided to just raw dog it and drive myself the way my ancestors did on long drives.

Well, I’ve officially just made it back home in under 4 hours. 274 miles, including charging and one Tim Hortons stop, in under 4 hours. Not bad at all.

A wasp got in my truck, but instead of trying to get him out, I’m taking him with me 45 minutes down the highway to my destination. I’ve named him Doug. This is like that scene in Talladega Nights where Ricky Bobby drives with a live cougar in his car. No sudden movements.

Time to talk about the hidden costs of Tesla ownership. I just spent $7.56 on a gallon of windshield wash fluid and I’m burning $30 a week at the car wash. Also, FSD keeps bringing me to this little ice cream shack. At $7.20 per visit, this car is going to bankrupt me.

I’ve never been into red coloured vehicles, but the Rivian red honestly looks so good on their vehicles. I’m was surprised more people hadn’t chosen red, but you also need to consider the fact that ALL of the Rivian paint choices are so, so nice. It’s really an exquisite pallet

It’s such a pleasure driving a car that can maintain its speed. This section of highway is twin lane, has huge elevation changes, and a speed limit of 120. I set the cruise at 130 and the speed did not change the entire route. No lagging, revving, shifting, or riding the brakes

I love kayaking on rivers (because it’s easy and you get to actually go somewhere). The only use-case I can think of for buying FSD is when it reaches a point where I can drop myself in the water and send it a couple hours down the road to wait for me to kayak to it.
