Another paper arguing for the pre-hospital use of art-lines and invasive blood pressure measurement:
“Time-interval between on-scene arrival & first head CT in patients with isolated severe #traumatic brain injury who received #prehospital arterial cannulation was not prolonged compared to those with in-hospital cannulation.”

@J_Stensballe @DrPaulRees @SJTREM There is no evidence suggesting that setting up an IABP on-scene increases time to treatment / CT. To me, it is all about timing and team work. IABP should be the standard when treating post-ROSC patients and patients given an emergency anaesthesia; both pre- and in hospital.

@alexffuchs @AirwayMxAcademy @LeechCaroline @jmelau I agree, although I prefere mittens (layred, like those in the picture) to gloves when it is really cold

@AirwayMxAcademy @LeechCaroline @alexffuchs @jmelau As for kit; for me, nothing beats wool in multiple layers + GoreTex. This also goes for my hands; my mittens keeps them warm and prevents me from attempting stupid things like undressing the patients or placing lines before we get the patient inside.
