Dude just made up lies about precolonial Africa. Do you people ever stop lying?
Black South Africa's reactions to the recent offer of asylum may look strange ("get out or shut up", in a nutshell), but it is indicative of traditional African political culture. In precolonial times, when population density was less than a twelfth of what it is now, people "voted with their feet", so to speak. Traditional leaders expected zero dissent, and had carefully circumscribed protocols and norms for addressing grievances. They were the executive, legislative and judicial branches all rolled into one person. If they did a bad job at dispensing justice, people would leave for his neighbour's pastures, and contribute to the general wealth of that little political community instead. The attitude is essentially that, if you have any criticisms, you will wait upon the grace of the leader, and politely petition at the appropriate time and venue, or get out. This had a sensible reason behind it - division in a traditional community could lead it to cease existing, and lead to being absorbed by other states where one's interests would be considered marginal, and one's heritage was nonexistent. But now property is enclosed, and the state is territorially all-encompassing, so theres nowhere to go except overseas. So the idea is that the political community of the majority is entitled to treat anyone who lives here as they please, and if you don't like it, flee.
