@Lee_Sullivan85 Dread to Delight also offering up a great section on Physical Literacy. This diagram is an all time favourite in helping decide a PE “why”, articulating intent & implementation and reflecting on practice! https://t.co/mwVcz7ATOS

🧵Chapter 8: "Learning" - How Do Children Really Learn in PE? The chapter starts with the classic skill-drill approach. I agree, it doesn’t belong in PE, even if social media makes “neat & tidy drills” look attractive and gets lots of likes.

Excellence in PE isn’t about trophies or medals. 🏆 It’s about growth, effort, and personal bests. Chapter 7 challenges how we define “success” in school sport. 🧵👇

🧵Chapter 4: "Assessment" What Are We Really Measuring in PE? This was the longest chapter so far, and rightly so. Assessment is one of the most important (and trickiest) parts of our role as PE teachers. 👇

🧵Chapter 5: "Disengaged" Why Some Pupils Switch Off in PE In most classroom lessons, outright refusal is rare. In PE? It’s common. That’s why disengagement is up there as one of the biggest battles as a PE teacher.

🧵Chapter 3: "Experiences" – What Do Pupils Really Remember About PE? My own PE experience was mostly positive. I wasn’t elite. more “jack of all trades” but I enjoyed it. Still, most people don’t remember the good stuff. They remember one bad moment. "Hair in the soup."
