This will be great fun!
Short field tour with @Lee_Briese and myself of our new land. Focus will be kochia management, saline and wet zone management. AGM in tent followed by a supper. Keyword: Smoked Brisket, Lana's Beans.

July 8 and lot of 3” tall soybean fields. Even better fields are far from canopy. No canopy until very late is 1 reason weed control is hard in this crop.

Interesting find today. False camomile can be pretty tough weed.

Had a couple warm days and the corn really grew. Hopefully we get a lot more warm weather soon.

Too soggy to do much scouting today. Made sure weed control is working and checked some stands on foot. But I did spend a couple hours with some of the best farmers/friends anyone could ask for.

Well that’s a wrap in scouting for this week. 840 miles on the 1 pickup and 520 on my atv. That doesn’t include the other pickup or other 2 atvs.

@FarmrHuntr @farmerdoug93 I don’t care for those machines at all. They are destructive to soil structure, increase risk of wind erosion, don’t kill weeds and reduce water infiltration. They do dry out the ground, if that what you want.

@FarmrHuntr @farmerdoug93 Makes soil extremely fine and if there is any residue left it’s very small pieces. No protection left

@farmerdoug93 Yes and yes it makes it worse. Rolling protects combine from rocks. The main culprit making the soil loose is tillage and the worst machines are the high speed discs.

Find at least 1 golf ball in this field every year. And you’ve gotta shank it pretty good because the fairway is on the other side of those trees; at least 85-100 yards away.
