Fantastic day - and it stayed dry ☀️. Thank you to all our veterans staff, patients and locals who helped make the day memorable. We opened the garden officially after much work and resigned our covenant.
Amazing day commemorating our Armed Forces and especially those who gave their lives in the name of our liberty and freedom, and those who came home forever changed - Thank you 🙏🏻

Just amazing, thank you to all those who supported us and made the 80th D-Day anniversary a really special event, especially being my last event as Armed Forces Lead, I have thoroughly enjoyed my 2 years and am very sad it has come to an end.
We were honoured to have the Mayoress of Wigan open our Armed Forces Community garden. A dedicated space for veterans and their families to use for reflection or just a bit of fresh air. Thank you @WiganCouncil and @unisontheunion for supporting the day.

Today is the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Today we remember and commemorate all those who fought for our liberty and freedoms.

Tomorrow is the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy, originally known as Op Overlord. Many men lost their lives and the rest came home but changed forever! Their sacrifice gave us our liberty and freedom that we have today! #lestweforget2024 #DDay
90% of the soldiers on the first boats to hit the beach didn't live to see the end of the day. Look at those faces. Some of them never made it to 18. They paid the ultimate price for your freedom. You live your life the way you do because of them.

Anita, Joanne and I spent some time at the Armed Forces Community garden today, getting it looking its best ready for its official opening on D-Day. A tranquil space for reflection or just to gets some fresh air. Outdoor space is great for mental health! @WWLNHS @WWLPatientExp
