Independent Therapeutic Forest Practitioner, passionate about Early Years, SEN, emotional development, wellbeing and supporting families. My goal is to develop a Forest School setting for family groups (inclusive) and quieter SEN specific groups. It’s what I do best! 🍁 🍂 💓
I’ve just managed to get out of cooking this Christmas! Last night I managed to trip up, bash my face and fracture both wrists on my way to the bathroom! Won’t be driving anytime soon either but at least I’m channeling my inner Rudolf 😢

That is so true! Whenever I’m complimented on what I’m wearing it makes it so much better when I can say, “and it’s got pockets...”, and then I do this weird little demonstration with the pockets.....
My eldest son has just asked me where he can buy some flowers on his way to work. They are for a colleague whose elderly dog has died and he knows she will be struggling. 🥺 💕

Everyday I get up first, have a cup of tea and relax.
OH joins me and one of the first things he says is, “What’s the plan of action for today?”
He hasn’t said it yet, which is good because it makes me want to hit him...
Thank you so much everyone for your help and advice “What Makes An Outstanding Early Years Provision”. I got the job! I will be starting as a Reception TA in a local school in September utilising my Therapeutic Forest School knowledge & love of natural authentic resources 💓
@emmccatt
That’s lovely Emma, makes me think about this poem. We never know what is going on in children’s lives.
I get so stressed if I am late that I’ve even made excuses not to attend stuff rather than turn up late. Having a bad start to your day is horrible. 😞
@beffybadbelly
This is so shocking, I’ve blocked loads of uncomfortable stuff out but reading this thread reminds me of how many times this has happened 😢
I felt sad that eldest son was the only one working today so I got up, made him tea to go, a warm croissant with cream cheese & ham and a couple of slices of cake. He was very happy 😊 💕
When you’re in a restaurant and you hear the”Happy Birthday”, and say “oh for fucks sake, how many birthdays are there tonight!” And realising oh fuck, it’s for me!
We were asked what we would dream of having in our Early Years settings and I said “a boat”. At the risk of sounding all Noel Edmonds, look what happens when you put things out into the universe!

Relaxing in the hammock with a little girl during today’s session, she asked me to “Come and play with me”
“But I don’t know how to play, what should I do?”
She gave me a daisy,
“Just hold this, go for a walk and take it on an adventure….”
🥺 💕 🌸 😊

Oh, I wish we had magic spots in our house. We just have a grubby mat to dry our feet on…. I put myself on the mat yesterday because I was sulking after Mum confiscated the cucumber I stole from the garden 😔
@Dr_Pam_Jarvis
Don’t make me cry, I was employed in a Sure Start Children’s Centre for 14 years. We did amazing work. Officially made redundant a week ago 😢 Thankfully, saw it coming & followed my Therapeutic Forest School dream, will be starting my new role as Reception TA in September.
Well we went to the Tapas to do out bit tonight. Unfortunately, I’m still feeling fragile so I only managed Tuna salad but the sangria was nice. Still not allowed photos of the boys though....

Sorry your daughter’s cold but ventilated classrooms are required to keep children & school staff as safe as possible. Teachers feel cold too & are terrified everyday, (trying not to show it) that the children in their care will fall ill, pass COVID on to the vulnerable & die😠
@StanleyTiger
Being Bastards is in our job description. We make our male hooman get up at 5.30am & then chase any bird that dares to land in our garden. As eldest Schnauzer I chewed up the female hoomans shoe & ate her new bottle of cuticle remover this week, didn’t even get a thank you.
Dammit! You know when you’ve chosen the wrong dessert…. Jay’s looks poetically like a beautiful Forest floor and mine just looks like Deer poo 🦌 💩

I love this thread! We have lots of crows at Blossom and they always get fed bits and pieces left by the children. We keep finding random “shiny” treasures, I’d love to think they are leaving us gifts 💕
Watching my 24 old son in wonder, getting ready to go to a Fire Risk Assessment Meeting at a care home in Dorking.
In awe of his confidence & professionalism & remembering the angry & anxious 17 year old who started his apprenticeship over 7 years ago. So very proud 🥲
The children wanted to carry on exploring the flowers at Forest School this afternoon. We tried some Hapa Zome (leaf bashing). They loved using the hammer, pounding the flowers, developing their hand/eye & arm coordination, using upper body strength 😊

Does anyone else’s dog steal their owners stuff when they feel ignored and then casually parade their ill gotten gains past them until they get some attention?

Found a fab project on Pinterest which would have been perfect for Australia Day. I have a 💕 book called Cave Baby that I could use to inspire the Blossoms. Thinking of ways to make it waterproof for the Forest Garden…..?

Today our Little People collected cobbles & made a Dinosaur Nest.
We played “What’s the Time Mr Wolf” & “Hot Chocolate” - lots of screaming & running about. One group of boys enjoyed excavating tiny river rocks with garden forks... I STILL don’t understand any of their rules! 🤷♀️
My 2 boys have Birthday’s after Christmas. Oliver is 23 today & Charlie will be 21 on 11th January. We may not be able to celebrate now but we will have a big Summer party when things are better. Remembering when we bubble wrapped the boys when we moved to Warlingham 😊 💕 🎂
Taking the log dogs to Forest School, I’m predicting the eyes & ears will be picked off within 5 minutes but I think I actually prefer the hand drawn ones anyway! My own dogs were not happy that I’ve stolen their toy basket 😂

My gorgeous, lovely hairdresser has just contacted me to say I can get my hair done tomorrow! Such a frivolous thing in the great scheme of things but it has made me SO happy! 😊
I am so CROSS! This is the face of a dog in disgrace. He got fed up of me reading my wonderful book instead of paying him attention. I came down this morning to this! I’d started writing annotations in it as well! 😞

Anna, you have done the most wonderful thing. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
I’m going to go out and about today with the view that I am going to be “more Anna” 😘 💓 👏

Gatsby’s left his chair to come and see what BD’s doing. He advises bringing in dirty, smelly deer antlers that have been marinated in the garden to help improve your bed fragrance…

I hate to say it but some of the worst menopause ridicule and ignorance that I’ve experienced has been from other women sadly. Thank you for taking the time to learn more.
