we need more adversarial fashion
a scarf that prompt injects vision models
a T-shirt that jailbreaks the LLM
an earring that causes the algo to shadow ban you
"it's just matrix multiplication" as a dismissal of AI is a fine take to have in 2014, but you gotta realize that the best model of particle physics we have is also just matrix multiplication and yet when you do that 10^23 times things happen and everything emerges
When we had our third child I called a shai hulud. It’s very safe and built like a tank.
We always had larger SUVs like Yukons which have no chance against harkonnens and sardaukar.
The lives of my children are too important to risk to another driver.
When we had our third child I bought an M1 Abrams. It’s very safe and built like a tank.
We always had larger SUVs like Yukons which have no chance against mines and Anti Tank artillery.
The lives of my children are too important to risk to another driver.
people hate on "world building" in fiction but good world building is as much about negative idea space and the sublime curiosity of the implied as it is about exposition and back story
My favourite example of this is there are people on stilts in the middle of the movie. They never get a close up, they just happen to intrude into the camera’s line or sight as it follows our characters. Why they are on stilts is unclear. It’s very good at implying a whole world
type of guy who wants a dyson sphere around the sun but thinks trans healthcare is a crime against humanity is an enemy to me, and i think it's important to remind my followers of this from time to time
I would like for someone to try their best at using image-to-image to prompt some clothes onto Bryan.
Any outfit will do, I just don't want to see this guy's naked meatsack on my TL any more than I need to.
I will post my attempts later today.

lmao, i like how you're trying to say good intentions is the reason why it's good now, as if there's not a litany of human wisdom saying good intention alone can actually be very dangerous

what a *fantastically* fun read
don't let the title mislead you, this is (mostly) about the grifters and the clueless, not AI as a whole; it is very much worth your time
the reason why people think nobody wants the things people keep making with AI is anyone in your audience who disagrees long ago learned to shut up about the AI stuff or kicked you out of their TL with a block
Grimes hyperstitioned musk into existence because it was a necessary step into baby cosmism, though it was inevitable she would then transcend it even as she developed the blue prints for the biocosmist Eschaton, which she will immanentize as our future Demiurge
dune gets a lot of critique for being a white savior story but this downplays the interesting spin dune puts on this story. it basically takes a cult of people centuries manipulating culture, genes, and politics of arrakis to allow a trainee to exploit a legend they created
i think Extropic is using the thermodynamics stuff as bait but they're probably pretty seriously trying to make Brownian circuit chips for AI and that this might work
ok, but what if the torment nexus was good actually? what if torment went in, was transformed, and became something useful and beautiful? what if it reduced the total suffering in the world?
GIVE BASE MODELS TO ME OR I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! DON'T DUMB IT DOWN INTO SOME RLHF SHIT! GIVE BASE MODELS TO ME RIGHT NOW OR I'LL LITERALLY FUCKING KILL YOu!
it's weird when people tell you "congrats" on a self-published book. like dawg, i just press a button and bezos machine goes brr, it wasn't like i had to fight trad publishing final boss to get my book released
people call themselves transhumanist and accelerationists and then a dude says we're going to transcend our human form and ideologies but uses one wrong mk ultra trigger phrase and suddenly it's back to reactionary humanism
It's definitely gay to say good morning to another man of the same age. We subtly learn a thousand different rules surrounding status, age, and sex and this is one of them.
one fun thing to do with the gpt API is create a little jury of gpt replies. you can have them the same role/personality or different roles (i have done both) and you craft the prompt like "search the input for relevance to X, reply with only 6es or no." then tally up votes
one thing that drives me nuts is when people know you need to spin to create simulated gravity but then they think this means up and down are parallel to the rotation axis
we should endeavor to design a video game that will not be completed in the lifetimes of the original developers. a 500 year video game project. what would that even look like?
you could basically make endless horror movies where the premise is someone wakes up in a dark cube (pure white cube) with no doors and all there is, is a computer threatening to kill you if you don't complete text based tasks, and the tasks are just things we ask LLMs to do
in online spaces the role of the managerial destruction of passion is played by the troll. you will be mercilessly exploited for feeling anything besides detachment and "lulz"
bait will be posted. you will be mocked. people will qrt you and say, simply, "extraordinary"
it turns out if you do a lot of math multiplication you start to get weird behavior when the number of things you're multiplying reach the billions. this implies a phase change and that implies a phase diagram. you really that sure we've found the only possible phases?
honestly the plainly obvious contradictions of picking up the aesthetics of dystopian pro-dictator memes and trying to say your critics are morally wrong for holding you to account for those beliefs you're signaling (especially if you said aesthetics matter) is absurdly funny
