A D2 pitcher who signed as a free agent last year who in college relied on a whippy arm action and a firm fastball - now has the makings of 3 (not 1, not 2 yes 3) big league average to plus pitches.

Kinda baffles me that people aren’t as high on Waldrep as they were before the season. Four 55+ grade pitches, the fastball sits 96 and touches 99 while holding 18” of vert.
Slight uptick in execution rate and this is a quality big league starter in a few years.
This is an absolutely demonic split-change from Waldrep. That pitch might be the best of its kind in the 2023 Draft.
