Why is pitch design so important for optimizing performance?. A D2 pitcher who signed as a free agent last year who in college relied on a whippy arm action and a firm fastball - now has the makings of 3 (not 1, not 2 yes 3) big league average to plus pitches.

Feel like weā€™re bucketing guys as ā€œsupinatorsā€ and ā€œpronatorsā€ and weā€™re limiting ourselves as coaches to problem solve but rather reading off a script that has not much merit. Learn about release deviations and how the athlete gets to that familiar release will tell you a lot.

2 points:. 1. The college balls are juiced to a point where itā€™s made scouting tricky and annoying. 2. Dylan Crews is in a different world than everyone, letā€™s not overthink this one.

Bryce Miller throws 7 different unique offerings . But. Youā€™re afraid to try a new pitch because it might mess up your 30 grade fastball.

Bryce Miller and his ever-expanding arsenal shut down the Mets today over 6.0 IP. It's awesome to see Miller weave in many different secondaries to complement his great fastball. Opposing batters are playing a guessing game against him, and he's been winning more often than not!

Itā€™s actually concerning how much pushback velocity training/development gets. Doesnā€™t take a whole lot of searching that velocity makes every pitch and entire arsenals better. Those who still resist this notion are welcome to be left behind as the game progresses.

Please reference the MLB for how the pitch clock has upped the number UCL injuries. Blaming the coaches for arm injuries with how good a prior track record they have is laughable at this point.

@LanzilliCam Is there any blame to place on him or the rest of the coaching staff for the weirdly high number rig UCL tears in our pitchers or does Arkansas just have that bad of luck?.

Not to over-simplify this whole recruiting process for good players:. But . There are literally 3 schools with their entire weekend staffs projected to go in the top 2-3 rounds. Not an endorsement for any specific school but if youā€™re a good pitcher - go where pitchers are good.

Last point: a bad program ruins success for guys like Sean Sullivan. A bad program would teach him to throw his fastball at the bottom of the zone with no understanding of how to oppose hitters attack angles. @WakeBaseball is creating unique road maps so each arm can dominate!.

Not enough buzz about what Ryan Cusick is doing in AA this year:. After last nights 7.0 ip 6 k 0 er outing, heā€™s sitting at a 2.88 era after 10 app. While still holding his typical 94 mph avg FB (t98), heā€™s added a sinker to the mix at 8.8 vb and a slider at 85 mph.

Over-rotating the pelvis at peak leg lift is a common recipe to cause disruptions in hip-shoulder separation at weight bearing front foot strike.

Pitches will remain outlier until hitters see them more often. Notice how many progressive orgs train hitters AWAY from flips/tee/steep angled bp . Instead, they focus on replicating approach angles that high end pitchers actually produce . Be different, be unique.

Neither of us ever went to baseball trainers growing up. Didnā€™t do showcases. Didnā€™t have our parents force us to play on any elite youth travel team. Simply grinded it out and believed in each other throughout the process. @Chrislanz20

Elastic energy being stored and released properly - reflexive return can be achieved optimally. There are few 16 year olds who can make 93 mph look so easy and so efficient. Transfer energy up the chain quickly, be like @CorySheridan5

Comments predicting pitchers who throw hard to get arm injuries might be the laziest take someone can make . There are no perfect mechanics and no oneā€™s naked eye is predicting an injury to occur with any merit or background . Letā€™s be better.

Setting @Nate32j in a constraint drill to create efficiency in his linear move. I want to see Nate avoid tipping his torso and over-extend into spinal flexion. The biggest piece to that is teaching him to hold proximity rather than reaching to a distal position.
