Top 15 teams in college baseball by FB velocity:. Vandy.Wake Forest.Oklahoma.Miss State.DBU.LSU.Texas A&M.Arkansas.Alabama .Stanford.Tennessee.FSU.Duke.Oklahoma St.South Carolina . These teams combined win% is .776%. Please be the one to tell their pitchers to throw less hard.
Chris Bassitt thinks pitchers are getting hurt because teams are too obsessed with velocity. ā[human bodies] are made to throw 91-92 and thatās okā

Iāve said this for a while. George Kirby legitimately commands pitches better than anyone in baseball history. Doesnāt hurt that he has pretty elite stuff as well.
George Kirby is arguable the best command pitcher of all time. Yes, I'm including Greg Maddux. George Kirby also throws absolute flames.

My favorite pick of the draft so far. Four 50 grade offerings in the 3rd round šµāš«. Pretty good get for @Mets.
With their third round pick, the Mets select RHP Nate Dohm from Mississippi State. The 21-year-old had a 1.23 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and only 4 walks compared to 37 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings this season.

Justin Lawrence (@jlawrence1125) has been up to 102.2 with his sinker at 1.3 VB 16.4 HB and has an outlier release height at just 4.5 feet. His sweeper sits at 1 vb -15 HB. His typical dominant stuff was on yesterday as he dominated hitters in live ABs. Huge year on tap @Rockies

Want to know why Jack Flaherty had a 2.75 era in 2019 and has a 6.18 era in 2023?. He threw 94.1 t98 in 2019, now he throws 91.9 t95. SIMPLE - velo doesnāt just make your FB better, it makes your entire arsenal better. Velo matters. Stuff matters. It all matters.
Jack Flaherty: "I'm going to play with the velocity on my fastball based on what the game calls for. I can get outs at 90, I can get outs at 95. That's the way that you go about the game." #STLCards

We need to really start talking about Jace Bohrofen being a top 20 pick @jace_bohrofen . Not only a ton of power and great hit tool but ELITE swing decisions.
his first two college seasons were underwhelming but Arkansas OF Jace Bohrofen deserves FAR more Draft buzz. - good in HS.- good in two summers on the Cape.- 3rd-highest OPS (1.297) among Draft-eligible SEC hitters behind only Dylan Crews & Wyatt Langford.

Kinda baffles me that people arenāt as high on Waldrep as they were before the season. Four 55+ grade pitches, the fastball sits 96 and touches 99 while holding 18ā of vert. Slight uptick in execution rate and this is a quality big league starter in a few years.
This is an absolutely demonic split-change from Waldrep. That pitch might be the best of its kind in the 2023 Draft.

Saw some tweets today that criticized this decision . Really feels odd to me due to the fact that this staff went out of their way to protect a player with a bright future and put his best interests first. Feel like thatās a very unique quality that a program puts players first.
Link Jarrett says that Jamie Arnold āwasnāt ready to goā on four days of rest and it ultimately wasnāt an option coming into todayās game.

Parents donāt know it typically but going to the pitching coach who creates robotic movement patterns versus an athlete trusting his neural sense and self-organization is a major cause for their kid not excelling at baseball.
Whatās the number #1 issue that parents deal with in sports today?.

2 points:. 1. The college balls are juiced to a point where itās made scouting tricky and annoying. 2. Dylan Crews is in a different world than everyone, letās not overthink this one.
Through 13 games this season, here are your team leaders in average exit velocity (min 20 balls in play):. Dylan Crews 100.2 mph.Brayden Jobert 92.5 mph.Jordan Thompson 92.2 mph.Tommy White 91.7 mph.Paxton Kling 91.4 mph.Brady Neal 91.4 mph

Bryce Miller throws 7 different unique offerings . But. Youāre afraid to try a new pitch because it might mess up your 30 grade fastball.
Bryce Miller and his ever-expanding arsenal shut down the Mets today over 6.0 IP. It's awesome to see Miller weave in many different secondaries to complement his great fastball. Opposing batters are playing a guessing game against him, and he's been winning more often than not!

Please reference the MLB for how the pitch clock has upped the number UCL injuries. Blaming the coaches for arm injuries with how good a prior track record they have is laughable at this point.
@LanzilliCam Is there any blame to place on him or the rest of the coaching staff for the weirdly high number rig UCL tears in our pitchers or does Arkansas just have that bad of luck?.

Last point: a bad program ruins success for guys like Sean Sullivan. A bad program would teach him to throw his fastball at the bottom of the zone with no understanding of how to oppose hitters attack angles. @WakeBaseball is creating unique road maps so each arm can dominate!.

Over-rotating the pelvis at peak leg lift is a common recipe to cause disruptions in hip-shoulder separation at weight bearing front foot strike.
Why the NPA set position? & why lift toward second? @tomhouse Best answer by a non-certified NPA coach will receive a free NPA hat & ultimate training t-shirt in time for stocking stuffing:

Setting @Nate32j in a constraint drill to create efficiency in his linear move. I want to see Nate avoid tipping his torso and over-extend into spinal flexion. The biggest piece to that is teaching him to hold proximity rather than reaching to a distal position.
