Serious question for ‘23-‘24 grads. Take a weekend over the summer. You play 4 games against a local team with no viable college prospects. You get a bunch of hits, strike out a ton of guys, etc. There are no college coaches present. Is that a productive weekend?

Today begins the D1 Quiet Period with two dead periods sprinkled in until March. For those players being asked to play in tournaments or off campus showcases during this time, there will be no D1 coaches present, despite what you’re told. Don’t shoot the messenger. 🤷♂️

“If you’re good, they’ll find you” is the most dangerous myth surrounding the recruitment process. Schools have limited staff & recruiting budgets. They don’t scout random games unless they’re on a guy. You can “hope”, or you can help yourself & prove you’re a dude!

Everyone sees the commitment but they don’t see what lead the player to that point. Leaving the comfort zone, trusting in a new process, time away from family/friends, ruthless competition, tireless hard work, sacrifice… now they reap the rewards.

Monster LHP has taken a jump this offseason. First pen back and coming in hot. Lands the offspeed consistently and he brings the 💨 on the bump. Major ‘25 to follow.
Bullpen session. Improved my off speed pitches (change up, slider/ curve). Working on sinker lately and excited to use all pitches for upcoming high school season and summer. Up to 89 mph with improved spin rate.

Elite ‘26 arm playing up. Monster frame, gladiator mindset, and a big time arm. Velo is climbing and he can spin it at a high level. Has a ton of helium heading into the summer circuit, will be a big attraction at Super 17. He will throw Wed in the 8am slot.
Quick bullpen before Diamond Nation next week. FB 87-89 SL 77-79 and up to 3000 rpms. Up to 90 last week.

The biggest observation I have with running a program is that 3 good months doesn’t make up for 5-6 years of neglect. Unless you’re a super freak athlete type guy, what you’re doing at 13-15u is arguably more important. Choose wisely.

Was 2/2 with a walk today in my first game back after a fastball to the face. First clip is my two hits. Second clip is a play in the field and third is swiping a bag.
