I found new Information about the mysterious drone. Apparently this is a new kind of FPV drones developed in Nizhny Novgorod . It can carry out remote mining, as well as hit objects at a distance of up to 20 km.

That was because they had no air support. In fact some russian pilots wanted to help them, but got stopped by their superior. The whole thing is a bit weird, since the guy the U.S soldiers contacted before the attack told them Wagner wasn't part of the russian forces.
