It’s so deeply tragic! Because like you said, the people didn’t want to be part of that war. They suffered for their government’s actions and not their own. It’s heartbreaking. With all the propaganda surrounding WWII in the US, we don’t often get to see how the war affected those in other countries. It’s a perspective we really need here. We too often glorify war.

@Alrockincorpus I think the movie captures much of that. It’s a side of the war we Americans don’t often get to see. I 100% agree it was horrific! But think the story needed to be shown to those outside of Japan.
