We're building laser guns at to address this - the cost differential in taking down these drone with existing missiles is ~ 1,000X, distributing directed energy solutions will bring the marginal cost to near 0.
A $400 suicide drone designed and assembled by a Ukrainian engineering student can take out a $10 million dollar Russian tank (Russia has even more drones).
Apparently both Ukraine and Russia go through tens of thousands of drones per month.

Like a doctoral equivalent of the human tree, you go back a thousand years and the # of ancestors drops significantly.

It takes a few tens of joules of deposited laser power to completely destroy a drone's visual guidance systems. Assume all drones will be on-board piloted by AI ASICS because RF jamming etc is too prevalent. This will be the case probably in less than a year.
