I’m raising money for walking with the wounded
@supportthewalk
over the 13-14 July! Race to the Stones is 100km over two days from Watlington to Avebury. Should be fun!
I am humbled to have been awarded a CBE in the 2024 Kings New Years Honours list. Thank you for all the kind words, support and generosity. Wishing everyone a wonderful, happy and healthy new year. 🥳
Sad to be leaving the AOSB after more than three years. Thanks to the fantastic team at Westbury and to over 12,000 candidates that I have had the pleasure of meeting.
Thank you so much for the kind words and responses as a result of Desert Island Discs! If interested in more info about the Army let me know and I’ll see how I can help! If interested in the MdS then details are at . Have a great 2021 !
A privilege to see the final flight of the amazing C130J. As an Air Despatcher, I flew with them in support of operations in Afghan and Iraq and have the utmost respect for the amazing suite of RAF pilots, engineers & crew that kept things going. Adieu.
A fantastic day yesterday at the RLC30 celebrations centred on a wonderful service at Winchester Cathedral. Great to catch up with old friends and meet new!
Congratulations to Major General Sharon Nesmith on her appointment as our General Officer Commanding the Army Recruiting and Initial Training Command. An extremely capable, competent and compassionate person. Delighted!
@UKArmyOfficer
Had an amazing evening at the Scientific Expedition Society ‘Oscars’ where our Defence Woman of the Year 2022
@PreetChandi10
was awarded Explorer of the Year. Well done Polar Preet 😁
Absolutely delighted to have confirmation from the House of Commons and our Secretary of State for Defence that Leighton House, Westbury will remain the home of officer assessment and selection for many years to come.
I would normally be laying a wreath at the Remembrance Sunday Service. Whilst this year is a little different, AOSB remain grateful to the amazing people of Westbury for their thoughts and continual support to the Armed Forces.
On Saturday myself and other members of the Walking with the Wounded team completed the Marathon des Sables in Morocco. Tough. Long. Hot. Beautiful. Brutal. Exhilarating. Some amazing people on a shared adventure!

We have our final weekend of Army Scholarship Boards and are extremely lucky to have three fantastic chaperones to ensure our young candidates get to the right place at the right time! Thank you for supporting AOSB in this important role.
The Army Officer Selection Board is maxed out at the moment....more people than places...and the RMAS Commissioning Courses are full until next year. So recruiting is working. I’m also proud about the work that we are doing in the partnership; these are good people working hard.
Disappointed by this from
@guardian
The headline is simply wrong. We’re in the third successive quarter of high numbers of soldiers starting training and the recruitment process is significantly improved. The problems of the past are behind us.
Well, just sitting with my family and have the biggest smile on my face! I remember being at a meeting with the FA in 2019 on the Womens game and what needed to be done. Well proof is in the pudding! So proud of the
@Lionesses
and the leadership in the Football Association!
A moment in history today for us all. Proud to be in the British Army and to continue as an Ambassador for
@supportthewalk
. This will be a pretty special walk 😁
Having just completed the Army Scholarship Board week, I have noticed how many young people have been influenced by the instructors from the ACF and CCF. You are all amazing. Thankyou!

Have just spent the morning with

Slightly early for the Women in Defence Awards but met the lovely Grace who is the Lord Lieutenant Cadet for the City of Edinburgh!!!

today. Did you know our applications are at a historic high, with RMAS and Army Foundation College Harrogate full? More women in training than ever before and the fastest application to Army is 21 days? Great to be part of it!
Final day of Army Scholarship Boards. Extremely talented young people coming through. No matter what the outcome - you are all winners as far as I am concerned. 👍

for a final time at Westbury. We have all enjoyed the trust you have placed in AOSB over the last five years and wish you well in the future!
Competing at the World Masters Orienteering Championships in the beautiful city of Kosice, Slovakia with a fabulous team from the RLC 🙂
@UKArmyLogistics
I have just had one of the most amazing zoom interviews to date with the inspirational Imogen Papworth - an 11-year old footballing lioness that has raised £15,000 for charity, including

Would thoroughly recommend

Looking forward to the

At the glorious Sandringham estate with the UKAF Orienteering team for our annual match with British Universities. More pics to follow but grateful to

Another week of selecting our Army Scholars! As always the quality is great and it is impressive to see so many engaging young people. Thank you all for coming and really well done!
First virtual tour of the AOSB conducted last night with 130+ officer cadets from Yorkshire Officer Training Regiment. Super fun and a great bunch of young, enthusiastic people at the end of the ‘Zoom’. Thank you!

Fantastic to be at the

Well, what a brilliant evening with over 40 Ravens from
@RWBassetRFC
! The girls are so inspiring as are the fantastic volunteer coaches! Awesome 👏🏻

I’m taking part in Race to the Stones at the weekend - 100km in two days for WWTW - and with gratitude that I am able to do so after a major operation this time last year. You can donate by clicking here
Thank you x
Really enjoyed being off the laptop and properly engaging with people during
#teamwork
. There were some great ideas on how individually and collectively we can take things forward. Next step is putting this into practice…..
My husband has served for over 30 years in the Army. Much love and respect to him and to the male colleagues I have worked with over the years.

Visiting the Ten Tors in Dartmoor is genuinely inspiring! 2,800 participants, 1,000 enablers with challenging, inclusive routes for 14-19 year olds. Awesome.
@EUOTC
well done for your support!
The Army has and is changing as I have personally experienced over the last 30 years. The panel discussion with Sarah Atherton and Baroness Goldie on
@BBCRadio4
this morning recognised some uncomfortable truths but also provided an opportunity to say what has and will be done.
Our reputation and performance is defined by how we treat our people and the Atherton Report on women in the Armed Forces is a sobering and challenging read. Culture, behaviour and leadership are all in the spotlight. Reform and improvement is non-negotiable.
Congratulations to Jeremy Tucker who was nominated today for all the hard work he does in supporting AOSB candidates at the Recruiting Group virtual awards ceremony!

Delighted to host another Employer Engagment day at Westbury. Really important to recognise the vital role of our Reserves and the valuable skills that the Army can bring to the civilian sector.
